Primo Hotel

9.0 out of 10, Wonderful, (11 reviews)
"This is a lovely small hotel with wonderful staff (particularly Josepe and Stefana). At the time we were there there was also a suited gentleman who was apparently a Director who hung around in reception looking very austere and unwelcoming. Unfortunately we were not able to use the pool, which was one of the reasons we chose the hotel, and there were no streaming channels available on the television, only Italian ones. We would return for the convenience, location and excellent staff."

Frequently asked questions

What is the best area to stay in Sant' Andrea?
The best area to stay in Sant' Andrea is the main village itself, especially for those seeking a convenient and scenic base for their Tuscan holiday.

The main village of Sant' Andrea is built into the hillside, offering stunning views of the surrounding vineyards and olive groves. Its narrow, winding streets are home to traditional trattorias, local shops selling regional produce, and a charming central piazza where locals gather. You'll find a good selection of top hotels, from boutique hotels to renovated farmhouses, all within easy reach of the village's amenities.

Couples will find the main village particularly appealing. It provides a romantic setting with its picturesque views and opportunities for leisurely strolls. You can enjoy intimate dinners at local restaurants, sampling authentic Tuscan cuisine and regional wines. The village serves as an excellent starting point for exploring the wider Chianti region, with many wineries and scenic drives just a short distance away.

For families, staying slightly outside the main village in one of the many agriturismos or villas offers more space and privacy. These properties often come with amenities like swimming pools and larger gardens, providing a relaxed environment for children to play.
When is the best time to go to Sant' Andrea?
The best times to visit Sant' Andrea, Tuscany, are during the shoulder seasons of May, June, September, and October.

These months offer a wonderful balance of pleasant weather, with warm days great for exploring the countryside, and fewer crowds compared to the peak summer months. You'll find it easier to book sought-after accommodations and dining experiences.

Couples often find these months ideal for a romantic getaway. The vineyards are lush in late spring and early summer, and the autumn brings the grape harvest, which is an exciting time to be in the region. The temperatures are comfortable for leisurely walks through olive groves and enjoying al fresco dining.

For those interested in food and wine, September and October are particularly good. This is harvest season, and many local producers offer special tours and tastings.
