Nice room and the hotel is in a great location. Only complaint is that the shower was cold. Talked to reception and they had ran out of gas. They replaced the gas cylinder but it was still cold.

What a wonderful location! Right in the town square! But this town square is mostly pedestrian so lovely and quiet. We arrived on a Sunday in time for the colourful locals market which was very special.
The hotel is sparkling clean, has a great top floor breakfast area (and lovely breakfast) and our bed was comfy with lots of hot water. Our hosts were very friendly and helpful.

The room was spacious and extremely clean. The staff are super professional, friendly and went above and beyond making my stay so smooth sailing. Couldn’t recommend this hotel more! Absolutely loved my stay

Great location and excellent service. You can actually breathe in the rooms and this helped greatly with the altitude.
Breakfast was amazing. Rooms were huge and super quiet.
Highly recommend to stay here.
Marco at breakfast in the restaurant had impeccable service and Manuel on the door was super helpful and friendly. Your motel is a stand out for service. We also stayed at the Novotel in Cusco, don’t bother. They should send their staff to you to get training. Excellent stay at the...

Great hotel in Cusco. The hotel looks brand new, with comfortable bed and a great breakfast. Service was superb. We stayed for two noghts and returned for another night after our Machu Picchu tour. I would highly recommend this hotel. Close enough to walk to the historic centre, and located in a quieter part of the city. That said, there are a few food options around. Would stay there again.

The hotel is very beautiful located in the historic part of the city within walking distance to almost anywhere. Stall are genevinly caring and very helpful to me to deal with my altitude sickness. The amenities and the restaurant/breakfast is great, the room was spacious and beautifully decorated. Loved this hotel.

This is a beautiful hotel. The climb takes a bit of getting used to when you first arrive and need to acclimatize to the altitude. But it’s a cheap taxi up and a quick walk down. Good breakfasts

The best area to stay in San Salvador is the historic centre of Cusco, particularly around the Plaza de Armas.
This area is the heart of Cusco and is very walkable. It's characterised by its historic architecture, narrow cobblestone streets, and a wide array of shops, restaurants, and cafes. The Plaza de Armas itself is a central landmark, surrounded by the Cusco Cathedral and the Church of the Society of Jesus.
For couples, staying near the Plaza de Armas offers convenience and a romantic setting. You're within easy walking distance of many historical sites, including the Qorikancha (Temple of the Sun) and the San Blas neighbourhood, known for its artisan workshops and charming alleys. Evenings can be spent enjoying a meal with views of the illuminated plaza.
Travellers looking for a balance of convenience and a slightly quieter experience might consider the San Blas neighbourhood, just a short walk uphill from the Plaza de Armas. It's known for its artistic community, artisan shops, and excellent views over the city.
When is the best time to go to San Salvador?
The best time to visit San Salvador is during the dry season, which runs from April to October, offering pleasant weather for exploring.
During these months, you'll experience clear skies and cooler temperatures, making it ideal for outdoor activities like hiking and visiting historical sites. The drier conditions also mean that roads and trails, particularly those leading to more remote archaeological sites or viewpoints, are more accessible and easier to navigate.
For travellers planning to trek or spend a good deal of time exploring the Sacred Valley, the months of May, June, and September are particularly good. The days are generally sunny and warm, and the evenings are cool, providing comfortable conditions for activities without the peak crowds of July and August. This period is great for those who appreciate comfortable weather and fewer people at popular attractions.
If your trip includes specific festivals or cultural events, you might consider late June for the Inti Raymi festival in Cusco, though this will mean larger crowds and higher prices for accommodation and flights.
