"Unfortunately they are Definitely still working out the kinks of a new hotel - Location is fabulous, rooms are new clean and beautiful and the staff was kind. The Censes restaurant left lots to be desired and the logistical mishaps of the front desk charging and lost and found procedure was a bit exhausting…. Hope to try it again one day but maybe after they worked all the kinks out. "

"We arrived after midnight due to a late flight and customs. The hotel was nice but our room in the back was run down and sparse with limited amenities. The room was at least three decades past an update. In the morning we had a lovely breakfast and the staff and service was great. Prices in the gift shop were not clearly marked and the clerk tried to sell me a small bottle of water for $6 US dollars. "

"Barcelo San Jose hotel is impecable in every respect- cleanliness, service etc. It has 3 restaurants to choose from: Japanese, all you can eat buffet, and another one with table sevice. I chose the bufet and the food was great. People are very friendly, kind and ready to help. Its all-around 5 star rating! You don't see many of those nowadays:) "
