Captain Java's Cottage in beautiful Morro Bay!

  • An enchanting private cottage, ideal for two. Steps from the sand, whale spouts, sand dollars and sea otters to greet you. Private entrance, King size bed, fireplace and private bath. Outdoor seating area to enjoy ocean sunset views. Small refrigerator, microwave and place settings to make your stay easy and comfortable. Outdoor storage for beach toys, if you would like to bring them. Private washer and dryer.
    You are surrounded by fabulous scenery and places to visit, whether walking, biking, horseback riding, surfing, kayaking, paddle-boarding or hiking. Morro Bay's Embarcadero is a relaxed walk from the cottage. For further jaunts, you can get in your car with easy access to major Central Coast attractions, such as the famous Hearst Castle, Paso Robles wine country, Cayucos pier, Cambria's moonstone boardwalk and Montana de Oro.
    Cal Poly San Luis Obispo is only 15 minutes by car, so parents can visit children at school and escape back to the coast easily.
    We do not allow smoking, children or pets.

We had an absolutely fabulous stay at this little hidden gem! So much better than a hotel room with incredible proximity to the beach in a quiet location. I would highly recommend this property and the wonderful owners who treated us with great hospitality.

David met us at our arrival and was very friendly and accommodating. The unit was spotlessly, clean and well appointed. There were a lot of extra touches, not usually found. Such as juice, coffee, milk, and the rare but coveted drip coffee maker. The bed was very comfortable. Location was great, just steps from the beach. We had a great visit.

This is a beautiful cottage just steps from the beach and the hosts David and Sabine are very gracious and ready to help you and/or answer any questions you might have. Because of the location and the hosts, my husband and I have now stayed here 3 years in a row and are anticipating a return trip very soon. We had so much fun, we hated to go back home and this felt like a second home to us.

Adorable Cottage

I have stayed at this amazing cottage many times! The cottage is cozy and very comfortable! The fireplace is definitely a plus!There is always coffee, hot chocolate, water and snacks. Every detail has been attended to!I am looking forward to my next stay!

Clean and stocked with anything we could want or need during our stay. We were even offered early check in although our travel time prevented us from taking advantage. Check in process was a breeze and I would surely stay here again if we find ourselves in the area!

Our stay was short but very nice. Great shower pressure and temperature which after a LONG car ride is appreciated. Room is perfect for a quick stay for visiting the area. Amenities were very nice.

What can I say... I can just attest to the fact hat everything that the previous stellar reviews said is true. With the exception that the photos of the interior posted by prior guests don't really give a justice to this place that is bigger and nicer that it appears on the photos. Also it is super clean, comfortable, quiet, and tastefully decorated. Am I posting my own inside photos? No because I was too busy running around taking pics of sunsets or resting comfortably on this ginormous bed...
