The home was extremely comfortable, clean, conveniently located and stocked with everything we needed to make pur stay fabulous. The host was EXTREMELY responsive and very friendly. Cant say enough nice things about how much we enjoyed our stay. I highly recommend this location!

Cutest house in Golden Hill

We absolutely loved our stay. It was super close to downtown and other attractions. The house was well appointed and had everything we needed. We would definitely love to stay here again!

Vacation getaway

We loved the property, everything was perfect, nice, comfortable beds, great and quick communication with Mike( property manager). Would definitely recommend this property and would stay here again when back in San Diego!

Wonderful House and Very Clean

We chose to stay at this house instead of a hotel downtown for a conference. Coming home to this place was very relaxing and quiet too.

Easy access and comfortable

We stayed a bit over a week while visiting our daughter in college. My wife, dog and I enjoyed the location with easy access to downtown, Balboa Park and Coronado. We’d absolutely recommend Mike’s property to anyone visiting the area!

Historic and Modern

We loved this property! The craftsman style was so well preserved - the place felt historic and modern at the same time. It was SUPER clean and well decorated. It had everything we needed and more. Although there is a tenant who lives upstairs, it was quiet and felt completely private.

beautiful house and great location!

this house was perfect for our stay in san diego! we were here for a friends wedding and stayed for a few extra days to explore and the location was perfect. not more than 30 miniutes from anywhere we went. was very clean and felt safe in the neighborhood.

Lovely craftsman

Beautiful property in a fun neighborhood with a great coffee shop and several restaurants in walking distance. Very convenient to downtown and the zoo. The bathroom is only accessed via the bedrooms so probably most appropriate for a family or close friends.

Beautiful home

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay here in Golden Hill. It is right near downtown San Diego, Coranado Island and the fabulous beaches. The kitchen was so thoughtfully stocked so when cooking you had everything you needed. Thank you hosts for the thoughtful bottle of wine also.

Great stay in a great location

The golden hill craftsman was a cozy home base during our family vacation to San Diego. Located in a very safe and quiet neighborhood, it was a great place to unwind at the end of the day. It was nice to have a full kitchen with every appliance you could possibly need. Our 5 year old loved all the kids toys available. Overall we had a great time and would stay here again.

Great Stay

Great house in central location. 15 minutes to just about anywhere you want to be. Not much in the immediate walking neighborhood so make sure to have a car or Uber plans. House was clean. Kitchen is wonderful. Newly remodeled bathroom was very nice. Communication with Mike was easy and he was super responsive before check in and once we were there and couldn’t find the travel crib. Would stay again!

Comfortable, clean, safe

Mike was great. Quick to respond to questions. restaurant recommendations in welcome book were spot on! Smoke detector is VERY sensitive and went off when boiling water, so be sure to put fan on when cooking and was startled by permanent upstairs resident that came through locked gate before I had read the welcome book to know she was ok to be there. otherwise, great stay.

A Hidden Gem in Sunny San Diego

We enjoyed a four day stay this past summer at this craftsman home. The home was clean and comfortable for 4 people and we had a nice time resting and unwinding at the home between our various adventures in San Diego. Check in and check out was very easy, and the owner of the home was very helpful and responsive the few times we needed their help. The bathroom was functional, but if you have accessibility limitations, be aware the clawfoot tub/shower requires some maneuvering to enter. Overall the accommodations were very nice and comfy and we are thankful to have found this place for our home base during our vacation.

Great place with good freeway access.

We stayed for a week, enjoyed our stay. Tenant above was a bit noisy and kept taking the best street parking, but wasn’t a big deal. We stayed up late most days. The bottle of wine and snacks were very much appreciated. Would suggest stocking more TP and paper products for longer stays with families. We had to buy our own once we ran out. Area is ok, some homeless close, but that’s everywhere downtown. A bike, beach towels etc would be a nice touch to add. Overall very nice spot, fair price for the area, we enjoyed our stay.

Charming San Diego Home Away from Home

I've never stayed at a rental property that's simultaneously so clean and charming and comfortable! My husband and infant son stayed for almost a week and had everything we possibly needed in a gorgeous space. Michael was an amazingly kind property manager, who checked in with us to make sure everything was to our liking on the first day of the day. When we had a question, he was prompt and courteous. His guide to the surrounding area didn't let us down. I also can't say enough about Golden Hill and surrounding Balboa Park, and the South and North Park neighborhoods. With a toddler who wanted to run around, proximity to the zoo and green spaces was amazing, and we were never more than 10 minutes away from The Gaslamp or downtown. We will absolutely stay here again when we visit the city.

Just what we needed...and more!

This property was excellent - exactly as described and in a great neighborhood. One of the best houses we've stayed for our family. Mike was very communicative before and during our stay, which if I had any questions or concerns, is perfect. We had no issues - check in and out was very easy, everything was working, and the house was a great size for the 3 of us. The real winner was the kitchen. We cooked lots of meals since our little one is a wildcard sometimes when we go out. The kitchen was well equipped with pretty much everything we needed. We are frequent visitors to San Diego to see friends and family, but have some how never been to Golden Hill! It is a severely underrated neighborhood. We found great restaurants in walking distance, plus having Balboa close was amazing. There is a list of restaurants in the welcome packet, some of those restaurants are closed now, but that didn't matter. It's a great neighborhood to walk around in and everything is a short drive away. We would definitely stay here again.

Got the peace I hoped for.....

Told Mike he was a gem....and indeed he is. Great communication.I stayed for a week, and I enjoyed the clean craftsman immensely. It is as advertised. The bed was comfortable. Even tho there was not much space, Mike was able to add slim end tables with chargers beside both beds. Very useful! Found my favorite sunny spot in the back. Sun (well warm sun) is why I leave Seattle for San Diego county in the winter time and so was happy to find such a warm spot!!The kitchen is full of all kinds of necesary cooking gadgets. The stove is great and does indeed have a fussy detector if you forget to turn on fan when cooking..... as a review previously mentioned.Better a fussy detector than no working smoke detector, right? Did not have a car but was able to walk (and took transit once) to everywhere I needed to get to without much Ubering!! Restaurants, coffee places, and a grocery store were close. While walking around looking for a book store....I was not aware I had walked long enough to reach South Park where I DID find one called The Book Catapult. A neat book store. It also was surrounded by many restaurants! The check in and out were pretty easy. Conclusion: The Craftsman is a lovely place to stay in.

Beautiful, comfortable, and very neat clean house! Everything was set up very conveniently-kitchen had everything we needed and the bedrooms were comfortable and quiet. We had a small challenge with the door lock one time but the owners immediately answered our call and walked us through the issue which was immediately fixed. Great stay!

The property was spotless and just as pictured. The house is charming and comfortable, we slept well and enjoyed walking the neighborhood. We cooked dinner one night and the kitchen is well equipped. We highly recommend this property and host.

This was a beautiful property and we couldn't have been more pleased. We were coming to San Diego for a nearby conference and staying here was SO much better than staying in a cramped hotel room. The work done on the home was so impressive, and every detail was thought of. The communication from the property owner was excellent before, during, and after. We loved it. Highly recommended!
