Perfect stay in San Diego

We loved our stay at this beautiful historical house. The neighbourhood was perfect, close to the city and the sights, but very quiet and safe, with lots of beautiful trees and flowers. We enjoyed sitting on the back porch and taking daily walks. There is some noise from planes flying over the house, it didn't bother us, but you might want to bring earplugs. The house is spotless, very well equipped and the beds very comfortable. Thank you Dorothy and Jerry!

Confortable stay in prime South Park location

The Urban Cottage is a terrific VRBO choice. Well-furnished with a completely outfitted kitchen, as well as a deck overlooking a lovely backyard, it is our first choice for San Diego vacations. This house is spotless and has everything you need. The bed was very comfortable. The neighborhood was great and we walked to a little Italian Restaurant that the host recommended. Wonderful food! Very close to Balboa Park and the zoo.

Wonderful house, wonderful neighborhood!

We loved this sweet, welcoming house! We felt so at home there! The house has a great back deck looking out over a lovely little yard with a bird feeder and so many pretty birds! The interior of the house was so open and inviting and the beds were all very comfortable with high-end bedding. The neighborhood is just the best, with so many great restaurants within walking distance. Harland’s was just three blocks away, with the most wonderful breakfast tacos. Such a great stay!

Great Cottage in a Cute Neighborhood

We enjoyed our stay at this cute cottage. Centrally located in a historical neighborhood, with great restaurants nearby, we explored San Diego with most destinations being just a short drive. Wonderful cottage near Balboa Park

This cottage exceeded our expectations. A wonderful historic home that has been updated. Our party of 3 adults and 1 child had plenty of room to relax after taking in a day of activities. Great to have a deck and backyard to enjoy. Would stay here again for sure!!

Lovely Cottage

Comfortable and attractive cottage. Everything we needed and located in a great area. Easy driving to the attractions we wanted to see. Lovely backyard that our 6-year-old grandson enjoyed. The owner was extremely helpful and easy to contact. Would stay again!

Wonderful Cottage

This was the perfect place. It was beautifully decorated and had every amenity you could need. Dorothy was quickly responsive and very helpful in finding us places to eat, see and shop. We made fresh juice from the oranges in the backyard almost every morning. It is centrally located and easy access to everywhere you might want to go. This is now in my favorites for when we come back to San Diego.

Our stay was fantastic! The cottage was so cozy and clean. There was plenty of space to eat and cook if you want. I was impressed by the location and how convenient the restaurants and grocery stores were. There are an abundance of things to do like Downtown San Diego, the Zoo, and Balboa park. the home was a wonderful remembrance for us growing up. we ended up spending more time in the home then venturing out since the kitchen was so accommodating. we sat and ate meals together at the dining room table just as we did when we were kids, sharing stories about mom and dad and of course each other. the house was very comfortable, the beds amazing! would definitely return to this home if ever back in south park.

Fantastic stay in South Park!

We had a wonderful stay at Dorothy's cottage with our three kids (ages 8, 6 and 3)! The cottage was exactly as advertised and located in a quaint, safe neighborhood. The cottage was very clean and had plenty of extras such as books and games for the kids. We loved watching the birds from the deck and enjoying the outdoor space. The area is very walkable with little shops and eateries nearby. We loved the proximity to Balboa Park and downtown. There was a playground for the kids only a couple blocks from the cottage. Dorothy was also very easy to communicate with. We definitely hope to stay here again when we return to San Diego!

A magical place

Dorothy's place was absolutely wonderful. It was out first time in San Diego. We had three generations in the house for a wedding. Everything we could possibly need was in the house. If we forgot something at the store or at home we ended up finding it there. The house was in a beautiful location, clean, and comfortable for our 4 adults and two children. Kitchen had everything you needed and bathrooms were clean. The house was very charming. We hope to visit again and plan to stay at the cottage again. Thank you!!

Truly an Urban Cottage

This was one of the nicest places we have stayed. My first question is always neighborhood- safe? This is in an awesome location! It is safe, it is walkable, it is in within 4 miles of the airport, downtown and Petco Park. I would stay here again! There are local shops and restaurants all around. We had coffee at Communal Coffee (my husband's favorite), Madeline's (My favorite- pastries are to die for!) and Seven Seas (they make all their own syrups!). We ate at a few local places, too. Try Curryosity if you like Indian. Excellent Fusion! The home had so many towels. The kitchen well stocked- I made some breakfasts and cooked all day Sunday. They were no negatives other than the plane noise bothered my husband a tad (I slept right thru it). Bring shampoo. Other than that- get ready for an awesome vacation! Thank you, Dorothy!

Beautiful cozy home with a great location

We stayed for five nights at Dorothy's sweet home located in the Balboa Park area of San Diego. The home was immaculate with very nice furniture and amenities. It was perfect for two couples, having two bedrooms and bathrooms. The kitchen was equipped with everything you'd need to prepare and serve meals. The backyard has a nice deck and we enjoyed breakfast on the outdoor table. There are mature fruit trees and we wished that the Fuyu tree's fruit was ready to pick, but we were just a little too early in enjoy that pleasure! Dorothy included a list of restaurants with our home information. It included cafes and stores within walking distance and other places which could be reached by car in a short amount of time. We enjoyed walking "the hood" and seeing a bounty of historic homes. It was a short drive to the Zoo and other attractions of San Diego. We did a food tour of "Little Italy" which was fabulous and once again, a short drive to the area. The home is located within the fly zone of the airport, but it was easy to not be disturbed by the flights as the airport is located near city center and not in the hinterlands like some areas. Communicating with Dorothy was also easy and she was very helpful and pleasant. We would certainly stay at Dorothy's home in the future!
