"We had a lovely three night stay here last week. The spa facilities are v. good - I've never been to a spa with so many treatment rooms. Positives: Good spa and nice bedrooms. Negatives: There was a lack of privacy to our first floor room which overlooked the street. However, I asked to be moved after the first night and they accommodated us, which I felt was good service."

"The hotel is in a beautiful setting with rooms set in the gardens around the main building which dates back 500 years. The service was very good but I have two criticisms the pool umbrellas were fixed so not allowing sufficient shade. The hotel does not have its own restaurant other than for breakfast and bar type snacks for lunch / early evening. However the setting made up for everything."

"Superb hotel in every way. It is on the expensive side, especially for some of the wine, but everything is of the highest of standards. Excellent golf course, played 2 rounds, greens were as good as it gets, very true and good speed. I was lucky as they had to move to temporary greens for 2 days while they treated them...I wouldn't have been pleased if I hadn't been able to play having booked the hotel for the golf! Our room (#419) was very nice but we had to ask for a fan as it did become very warm when the window was closed. All in all an absolute treat to stay at this hotel and we hope to be able to return in the future."
