  • Les Maisons de Pierre in Périgord offers you Les Maisons d’Antan, rated 5 stars by the Ministry of Tourism, consists of two 18th-century dwellings: La Bergerie and La Mansarde.
    They were built from traditional local stone and slate and are certified "Fondation du patrimoine." A local interior designer completely renovated and refurnished them. She emphasized the intimate feel of the space and gave a new touch to the various rooms while respecting the regional spirit, which is evident in the monumental fireplace and the rammed earth floor, among other things. At the same time, a renowned local landscaper designed the gardens.
    For the quality of the renovation and decoration, Les Maisons d'Antan has been featured in articles in various specialized magazines, including "Maison de Campagne, Restaurer sa maison...".

    As they are composed of two buildings, it is possible to rent only the main house, "La Bergerie," outside the summer season for 4 or 5 people, with two bedrooms and two bathrooms.

    Les Maisons d'Antan are located between Lascaux and Sarlat (10 km) in the heart of one of the most beautiful villages in France (St. Léon-sur-Vézère, St. Amand-de-Coly, etc.) and near the capital of prehistory, Les Eyzies-de-Tayac, a UNESCO World Heritage Site.

The property was very well equipped with everything we needed. Great bedrooms and bathrooms and excellent kitchen. Pool was very nice and welcome during very hot days. Easy to get to Saint Genies and Montignac and other nearby villages. Would have liked a larger TV in lounge to watch the Olympics, and a satellite connection that worked. Florence, who prepared and greeted us, was delightful.

Gorgeous Property

Apart from an mis communication between the owner and the housekeeper re our arrival - which was quickly sorted out stay was faultless. The property oozes French charm and luxury with all the amenities that you require. The bedroom are spacious and extremely comfortable all with en-suite’s. The pool was lovely with a large shallow area for the young children. Florence the housekeeper was lovely and on hand to answer our questions. The property’s very remote with nothing within walking distance - however many lovely places to visit within a 40 min drive. The historic town of Sarlet only about 15min away is a must to visit and has a large supermarket petrol station shopping restaurants etc. But if you’re looking for peace and relaxation this is most definitely the place.

Charmantes maisons très bien décorées et très bien équipées. L’accueil de Florence était parfait.Elle s’est montrée très disponible à nos sollicitations. Très bonne location près de Sarlat

Propriété très bien aménagée et très agréable. Nous étions 10 adultes et sa grande surface, son aménagement et son équipement ont été très appréciés. Je jardin est bien entretenu et agréable. Seul bémol la piscine, pourtant chauffée, pourrait être plus chaude. La méteo ayant été un peu capricieuse lors de notre séjour nous n'avons pas pu vraiment en profiter. Une belle location que je recommande sans hésiter.

Beautiful week at Madison’s d’Antan

Our group of 10 (6 adults, 4 children) enjoyed a lovely week at this property. There was plenty of space for everyone, and the property was just as pictured. We visited during the “heat wave of 2019”. The house stayed cooler than expected during 40 degree temperatures (due to the very thick stone walls and roof, no doubt) but we were greatful for the pool. The property manager, Florence, met us at check in to show us around and was available to answer questions during the week. We enjoyed the market in Saint-Genies and explored Sarlat-la-Canéda.
