Staying in this apartment made our vacation more pleasurable!

This apartment was perfect for our family of 4! It was very clean, stylish, comfortable, and very well located. It is situated in a quiet neighborhood but is still very close to the Spanish Steps and the metro. It had everything that we needed for our 4 night stay in Rome.

A beautiful apartment with an extraordinary host

What a charming apartment, steps from Piazza Barberini and in the heart of things, yet quiet and peaceful. Amalia is an extraordinary host, warm, knowledgeable, and enthusiastic, and the apartment itself is well appointed and comfortable. We will certainly stay again!

Outstanding! Perfect in Every Way

This property is absolutely lovely and super comfortable, convenient, and centrally located in Rome. The apartment is large with lovely bedrooms and private baths for each room. Lots of restaurants nearby and a small grocery within 1 minute of walking. The host was most helpful with arranging transfers for us and assisting us with other needs. We stayed 5 nights but agreed that this is perfect for a longer stay!!!

This is a great property!

We spent a week in this great space. The property is in a great location. It is walking distance to main sites and has easy access to public transportation. The unit itself is well maintained, well stocked and clean. The photos are accurate. Management is responsive. There are many resources in the unit to guide you around the immediate neighborhood. A well stocked mini-mart is a few doors down. We would definitely go back!

Perfetto!

A beautiful, stylish apartment in an excellent location. We loved everything about it, especially the private garden. We have two young children, so the convenience to Villa Borghese was a huge plus, and all the great sights of Rome are in walking distance. The apartment is modern (with excellent A/C) but has a classical feel. Amalia (the property manager) was hugely helpful, and the owners left a guide with recommendations about food shopping, restaurants etc. Be sure to take their advice and eat at Pizzeria al Leoncino..we went twice. We were thrilled with our choice, and hope to come back.

A hidden Gem

What can I say that hasn't already been noted. This apartment is exceptional from the decor, to the location, to the outdoor garden. There was nothing missing and we really felt at home. Amelia is wonderful to deal with and any questions that we had she was always happy to assist. This is the first time we have rented an apartment and she made the experience very enjoyable. The spot that we enjoyed the most was the garden. After walking all day it was the place that we enjoyed coming back to and relaxing before dinner. I would highly recommend this apartment to anyone and when I return to Rome I will definitely be returning back to the apartment.

Excellent choice

We were really happy with the apartment: the photographs online were a very accurate representation. The apartment was beautiful and comfortable. It was neither too big, or too small. We had lots of closet space in the master bedroom and big bathrooms. The AC worked fantastic! (which was important as our stay was during a hot spell). The patio was a big part of why we enjoyed it so much. The patio had lots of green shrubbery so it had a sense of privacy, even though apartments with balcony’s were around it. The neighborhood was really great; very central to the action, restaurants and shopping, yet not noisy. We walked to many of our tourist sites. Amalia made arranging the reservation / deposit, etc. convenient. Her response time to emails was very prompt. We paid with Pay Pal, which was fairly easy. The minor difficulties we had with the PP process was easily explained by Amalia.

This is a nice property but...

The property is beautiful and as described but the huge issue that made our stay uncomfortable was the lack of air conditioning. It was hot in Rome but that should not matter. There was only central air in the hallway, master and small vent in the living room. The vent in the second bedroom did not blow cold air so we could not sleep in the second bedroom. This was unfortunate. Although the master had a vent, it did not stay cool and we could not sleep with top sheet or blankets at night. I contacted the property manager and asked for fans but they did not have them or offer to drop one off. They did not send someone to look at the A/C unit. It would be a great place to stay if the air conditioning worked. When we relaxed in the living room we were sweating and stuck to seats. I would not stay here again in the summer. During the cool months, it would be wonderful.

Lovely home but...

We waited a while after leaving to write this review to see if time would soften some negative aspects. While the apartment itself is lovely, obviously "more than a rental" as the property manager reminded us several times on our orientation, this was not a perfect stay for us. First, be aware that if you pay with PayPal (one of the choices we were given) you will be asked to pay the fees PayPal charges the owners. This is not disclosed anywhere and when we were informed of this a few weeks prior to arrival, we suggested that we split the fees since we were not told about them ahead of time. Several snarky emails from the manager later, we gave up and paid it on arrival, not an insignificant amount. On arrival, the manager was checking someone in elsewhere and we waited on the street, no cover, with our luggage for 40 minutes, thank goodness the weather was good. (we had advised our arrival time well ahead). While there is AC in the unit, be advised there is no vent in the study/2nd BR so that room never gets cool while the master bedroom is freezing. The kitchen is well stocked in most regards but there were no trash bags and when we inquired, we were told to just use whatever we had (grocery bags etc) and take the trash out and up the street 5 minutes to the neighborhood trashcans. The master bedroom is right on the street and noise starts pretty early with cars and scooters whizzing by (its a cut through street for the locals). If you are in the least bit noise sensitive, bring your earplugs. There is also a dog (or 2?) in the building that you hear barking as well as one across the street. The location is great for the Spanish Steps/Via Condotti shopping but further away from most other attractions (Piazza Navonna, Campo di Fiori etc). While the manager smiled and answered our questions, she managed to make it clear that she was doing it with disdain. She embarrassed our son "so you are 30 years old and still traveling with your parents and having them pay!?" and insulted several ethnic groups in answering our questions about certain neighborhoods ("the Paki's own the shops"). She even said "I'm probably a snob but I wouldn't live in that area" and "all the Americans have moved in and run the prices up". We own several properties ourselves that we rent to travelers-we'd never tolerate attitudes like this in our property managers. Bottom line, the place is a nice home, the garden is nice but we wouldn't book from this manager again.

Fabulous Roman experience

The apartment is beautifully and comfortably furnished with a lovely garden and is very well positioned - there is public transport available nearby but we mainly walked everywhere. It was just the best place to stay for a fortnight and truly experience life in Rome.

Garten mitten in Rom

Eine tolle Wohnung mitten in Rom; keine 5 Minuten zu Fuß von der spanischen Treppe entfernt. Großzügige Wohnung, die sehr geschmackvoll eingerichtet und vollständig ausgestattet ist. Den Garten haben wir nach unseren Ausflügen genossen. Eine Parkgarage ist um die Ecke; auch wird ein Abholservice vom Flughafen organisiert.

Nice place, when the construction next door is over.

The property is nice at a great locationinside the apartment was alos clean. The only reason i did not leave 5 stars. There is major construction going on next door. It woke us up everyday at 7:00. Small patio in the back was paractically useless, caused by all the construction dust. Other wise it's a nice place.

Fantastic apartment in great location

This apartment is perfect for a couple staying in Rome for any period of time. We were there for two weeks, and we were extremely pleased with our stay. The location could not be better… near Piazza Barberini, where there is a metro station, critical for getting around Rome. Lots of neighborhood eateries, and the street itself is charming. The apartment has all the amenities you could want during your stay. We had difficulty turning the shower on and off… You might want to ask the manager to tell you the best way to do this. The only drawback was that there was some major construction going on around the apartment at the time we were there. The outside space is a real plus at this property, and we were somewhat constrained in our ability to use it because of the construction. I suggest checking to see what the status of the ongoing construction is as it was a major project taking place in the block where the apartment is located. That aside, which is obviously a temporary situation, this apartment is wonderful and we highly recommend it.

Perfect getaway in Rome

We stayed for a week in this fantastic apartment. It is even nicer than the pictures. Completely equipped and the outdoor space was perfect for meals and drinks. Check-in was easy and lots of information provided about the area. Good location to explore Rome and excellent nearby places for coffee, aperitivo and food. Highly recommend and we would come back.

Super nice flat

The flat is very comfortable and greatly placed in Rome city center, close to many of the main monuments and still in a quite street. You can go almost everywhere on foot, we love walking, but if you don’t, the metro is around the corner (literally).

Perfect Property

The location waa perfect for our first time in Rome. It was close to other friends who stayed at the Eden Hotel. Close to a main road with lots of shops and places to eat. The property was exactly as pictured. It had everything we needed. We also hired a private chef at the suggestion of the host and they prepared an excellent meal for us and our friends. We sat out in the garden for dinner and loved every minute of our dinner. Next time We come to Rome we hope it is available again.

All roads lead to Roma!!

We had stayed in the area last year and found it so close to everything we wanted to do…including out favorite restaurant, Osteria44, so we wanted to book something in the same location. The property is as described and perfect for my husband, myself and my SIL. Everything was super clean and fully stocked. We didn’t even have to go out for coffee! That they even had a springform pan so i could make my lemon ricotta cake, was a blessing. If only the beds weren’t so comfortable, I ended up sleeping in and not being able to bake! Thank you John, definitely A++++ location and apartemento!!!

Hazy Crazy Days of a Roman Summer

Even with the long days and extreme temperatures of this summer our Rome stay was made so easy and comfortable in the apartment. Good sized rooms, comfortably and eloquently furnished , a super well equiped kitchen and good air conditioning in all rooms were as described. Location added to the ease of access to local restaurants and public transport. Communication with the agent at all times was excellent. We look forward to a return stay.

Gorgeous and Comfortable

Rione lll Colonna is the loveliest and most comfortable apartment we have ever taken. It is spacious, so very handsome with excellent art and furnishings. The books are a marvel and the kitchen vies with our own for utility. The street is quiet. The apartment's location enabled us to go where we wanted by walking. The weather was something else, unfortunately. Heat radiated everywhere. Luckily for us, the apartment provided a perfect refuge with outstanding A/C and all those books!

Rome, felt like home

The ground floor stylish appartement with garden is in our opinion in the best area to be in. Just around the corner of the Spanish Steps you almost can reach everything walking. The airconditioning definitely helped us being there on the hottest days. Since Rome was only part of a long trip, it’s pleasant to have a washer and dryer. Did I mention the books: there are plenty of books about Ancient Rome. I’m pretty sure we found our home away from home to come back to for years to come.
