Sovereign Hill Hotel
8/10 Good
"Second time staying at Sovereign hill hotel, it’s in a perfect location, easy access to sovereign hill next door
The only two faults is the TV in the room is shocking, the sound is so muffled we didn’t even watch it in the end
And the housekeeping for the 2nd day wasn’t great, the beds looked like my kids made them and the dirty dishes were left in our room
Heater works great but is loud overnight"
"Fine for a nights stay. Room itself was neat and tidy. Comfy bed. Only thing lacking was the bathroom unfortunately. Shower door wasn’t real clean at the base."
Club Wyndham Ballarat, Trademark Collection by Wyndham
8/10 Good
"We stayed for 3 nights in a 2-bedroom apartment as a family of four and overall had a very enjoyable stay. The apartment was well-appointed, comfortable, and well-suited for a longer visit.
The resort amenities are a real highlight. There’s a heated indoor pool (though still a bit chilly in winter), tennis courts with racquets available for complimentary hire, bikes, and even canoes and paddle boats you can use on the dam — plenty to keep the whole family entertained without leaving the property.
A couple of things to be mindful of: this was our second stay, and although we booked the same 2-bedroom option as last time, we were allocated a 2-bedroom apartment with only 1 bathroom (and 1 toilet), compared to a 2-bathroom setup previously. It’s definitely worth making a special request if having two bathrooms is important to you.
We also experienced an issue with hot water — each evening around 8pm it would run out, despite not using much during the day. Earlier in the day it was fine, but this was a bit inconvenient for a family trying to get everyone sorted in the evening.
Location-wise, it’s a great base for exploring Ballarat, with most attractions within a 10-minute drive.
Overall, a relaxing and convenient stay — we’d happily return."
