It's basically a Motel 6 but we got some great nights sleep there. We weren't expecting much with it being a budget motel. We were pleasantly surprised!
I was very dubious after entering the lobby because of its stark bareness. There there were older people behind the office window, they would not talk to me and directed me to a virtual check in where a young lady was on the screen. It seemed very impersonal and she mentioned nothing about an included breakfast.
We entered behind the motel from the parking lot on to the first floor which looked its age and had a terrible smell about it. We took the elevator to the second floor where we found our studio room. The hallway look like it was freshly painted and had new carpet. The studio was very roomy and looked like it was recently renovated. The most important thing was that it was quiet and the bed was very very comfortable. Both of us had an excellent sleep.
Kiosk established for check-in with HUMAN backup. Challenging for a first time user. :(
Room was spacious, clean and minimalistic (in a good way). Peace until 22:30 when a few "guests" seemed to be playing "The Anvil Chorus " with doors (?).
Older building, but modern decor. Check-in was with a kiosk and a video two-way link. The kiosk spits out your receipt and room keys.
Had to go back to the kiosk when room had no TV remote. Manager came by shortly to replace. Offered to replace other AC remote that didn’t work but I didn’t need to.
Plenty of parking. Location solid. Right next to Rockford University and plenty of chain restaurants.
All in all I was pleasantly surprised. We were in Rockford for a soccer tournament and all the hotels were full, so I found this motel had availability and got a room not expecting too much. The room was clean, spacious and updated (don’t be fooled by the exterior). I read reviews that the soundproofing wasn’t too good- but we didn’t hear anything and slept through the night. I never used a kiosk check in before, but it was easy to use. Upon check out I met the General Manager and he was vey nice, asking about my stay and wanted to know if there was anything they could improve. Like I said, I was pleasantly surprised- our biggest “want” was a clean room, and we had that!
The lobby was not staffed. There was a kiosk where you spoke through a zoom-like device to a rep. It was hard to communicate due to the echo from the lobby, so I couldn't really understand what she was asking. The pool and gym was closed off. I'm guessing it was due to the fact that no one was there. The rooms themselves were clean and freshly renovated. That was a pleasant surprise. Much nicer than expected.
While getting into our room, someone in our party dropped a large water bottle. The dropping of the bottle created a loud noise and shortly after someone from the hotel staff entered the room under the assumption there was a fight going on in the room. At no point was there a fight going on and the hotel employee did not knock before entering the room. When we explained what had happened, the employee was argumentative stating the noise they heard wasn’t created by a water bottle. At the very least, a knock on the door was warranted prior to entering our room.
Also, I was not a fan of the remote checking process. The individual on the stream was difficult to understand.
The rooms were nice. I have no complaints about them.
However, due to the other happenings, when we return next year, we will not be staying here again.
The room was clean and it was a good experience. I liked that it was hard floors instead of carpet. If I'm everstaying in Rockford again I'll stay here.
It was a good stay but the bathroom was dirty and the towels would have hair on them but other than that, great space, nice room.

Cheap place to Crash
Was in town for a Lacrosse Tournament and there were no rooms anywhere close when I booked this. It worked for what we needed at a great price, but looked like some of the hotel was long term housing. It was mostly clean with a few areas that could have been better, but it was nothing worth complaining about. It worked as there was no other options (that weren't way over priced), would go back if I had to.
Motel is going through a renovation our room was like new.
Very clean, new appliances excellent bathroom. Front desk staff very polite and helpful. Will stay again.
Rooms were clean but you could smell the foods people were cooking in the hallways. It seemed more like an apartment. Beds were comfortable and building was not noisy.
