"We arrived very late in the evening about 9:30pm and the staff couldn’t have been more welcoming or more helpful. They recommended a local takeaway that delivered and allowed us to eat our food in the bar and have a drink. Our room was huge and very comfortable. We’ll definitely be back."

"Just returned from wonderful two night stay at Black burn Lodge and it lives up to the rave reviews. Stunning location by the river, where we spent the evenings in the gazebo enjoying the views and a glass of Baileys . The room was spotlessly clean with high quality bedlinen and furnishings. Also separate lounge if weather not great. The hosts make you feel so welcome and provide a lot of formation about where to eat and visit in the area. Would highly recommend and hope to visit again."

"The room and breakfast were perfectly adequate for myself and friend who were doing the Borders Abbeys Way walk. Unfortunately, we stayed on one of the nights when an evening meal was not available. Despite being given various options it was impossible, at short notice, to book into anywhere else that offered a meal in Selkirk. Moreover, for town which is a substantial size we found that there was only one pub open that night and it did not serve food. Pie and chips from the local emporium was...
