We love coming back to the House on Blue Waters every year. The lake is beautiful. We love hiking, kayaking, swimming, boating, biking (in Cades Cove on Wednesdays), paddleboarding. The house has comfortable beds and a kitchen with all the pots, pans etc that we need.
Perfect location for tail of the dragon and the Cherohala skyway and other great driving roads. Marks response was immediate to only 2 questions I had.Would definitely book again.
The House on Blue Waters is modest at first blush, but the view of the crystal clear lake and mountains in this fall season made a lasting impression. Canoes and kayaks, with safety gear on site allowed the family to launch onto the lake from the dock and become one with that view! Lots of little details, like the Tesla charger, to a dedicated gas feed for the Weber grill and fireplace indoors left my wife, cousin's family, and I wanting for nothing. This house is essentialism embodied, but essentially also a perfect getaway.
We were looking for a short getaway from the stresses of life and found it at the House on Blue Waters. It was a quiet clean place to stay with wonderful hiking trails close by.
We hope to visit again!
Always a great stay here! Lovely home with plenty of space and a well kept dock/deck and organized outdoor space for all watersports gear. The host is very easy to communicate with and is super helpful with any questions.
My friends and I stayed there while visiting for dragon, house had perfect accommodations for us from a nice lake, patio, to dishes to use. Parking had plenty space to park multiple vehicles, will start again!
My husband and I had a great time, the house was perfect. We rented a pontoon from the local marina and it was so beautiful exploring the lake and amazing scenery. Will definitely be back.
The house was very clean with a lot of light and great view of the lake and mountains. Several decks and a dock to enjoy the lake. We had a wonderful vacation, I highly recommend this property. Many activities in the area, make sure to visit the Tapoco Tavern.
Our stay at house on blue waters was nothing short of amazing. The house was clean, the neighbors were friendly and the added perks of having access to the kayaks and such was a huge hit with the kids. We def want to book during the summer!
We had another fabulous stay at Mark's house on the lake -- 5 stars and more! It is a wonderfully comfortable and bright home with lots of great outdoor space. We enjoyed the beautiful lake view from the house, deck, and dock each day. Plus, we had so much fun with the paddle boards and kayaks. Mark is a super responsive and helpful host -- and I'll be reserving a week again next year for sure!
This was our second visit. The lake house is wonderful, clean, comfortable and stocked with everything you could possibly need. I look forward to renting again next year.
Communication with Mark was easy.
We so enjoyed our stay! The hosts seemed to have thought through every detail to make guests comfortable. Everything was labeled and easy to find. The water equipment was all clean and ready to use (we loved canoeing on the lake!).The house had wonderful views and good books to read on its incredible porch. This time it was just adults, but we look forward to coming back and enjoying this special place with our kids.
Thanks so much for the hospitality!
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at House on Blue Waters. We felt right at home, and the hosts had things we needed for our stay, such as dish soap and a new sponge, which is a plus. When we had a question, they were quick to respond. And, oh, the view! We probably could have spent our entire time in NC on the deck, on the dock, or on the water and been content. We've stayed in many rentals across the USA, and I have to agree with my husband that this is one of the best!
We loved staying at the small house on the Lake. The property has many different areas to enjoy the outdoors and Kayaks we used even when the weather was cold. Would love to come back sometime during summer time in the future to fully enjoy the lake. It was very peaceful and relaxing which is what we were looking for to do.
I only wished the house had a dishwasher because my hands get extremely dry during winter time, but again the Lake views were stunning specially during sunsets so it was worth it the stay just for that :) I will definitely go back during summer time.
Wonderfully warm and often full sun for most of our stay (late October). We enjoyed trying the two kayaks, then settled on the square stern canoe for a couple of longer trips (6 miles each). We hiked several trails in the general area, and had a very pleasant Halloween evening dinner at Tapoco Lodge & Tavern. We made a longer drive to Maggie Valley to visit the Wheels Through Time motorcycle museum. Among the conveniences we enjoyed were the coffee maker, the gas grill on the outdoor deck, and the laundry room. The house was well appointed, quiet, and clean. The view to the west, from the kitchen/dining room/great room, through the large sliding glass doors was wonderful. And of course, sitting outside on the deck to watch the sun set was amazing. The comfort and convenience of this house helped to make our honeymoon memorable!
This is a great place to stay with all the water toys you could ask for! The house is clean and open with fantastic views from all rooms and plenty of space for guests to relax and chat either inside or outside. We focused on time at the water and all the kayaks, stand-up paddle boards, canoes and lily pad gave us plenty of options for things to do. A huge perk with this home is the amazing organization of all these different toys! They are easy to get to and get out in the water, but also helps them stay clean and ready for use from the next guests. The deck area has multiple seating areas depending on if you want sun or not and the dock was perfect for these hot summer days in the water. The home was very comfortable for us overall and Mark was very clear with communication and asks for the check-out process. We hope to be back again!
