"Rooms were clean, mini bar was stocked daily, staff was friendly, food was good lots of options. Brazilian and Japanese restaurants were sooo good! Drinks were meh. Main pool bars could have used two bar tenders "

"Beautiful grounds. Huge property! Lots of activities for kids and a separate splash park. The wildlife is amazing. We loved watching the monkeys. There are several pools that are huge, beautiful, and well maintained. We thought the property was a great value. The buffets had a large variety and the food was good. I knocked off one star because the check in process was loooong and it was nearly impossible to get dinner reservations at the speciality restaurants. You had to go to the lobby at 7am to book 2 days in advance. These little blips would not stop me from staying there again. We had a great time. 4 adults. 2 rooms. This was a family trip with our adult children."

"This was our second stay at Barcelo Maya Palace. We love having so many options and being able to play at each of the resort's pools, water slide parks, and beaches. The resort's location is also so nice and close to the Xplor and Xel-ha parks. One disappointment this visit was we weren't able to get a reservation at the teppanyaki restaurant, even thought we inquired when we were checking in."

"This was a great vacation for my family (two teen boys), everyone had a great time. Because we booked through Expedia, we had access to two other resorts, and tried all the buffets and the other pools. The beach is accessible through the other two resorts (Tulum and Akamai), and the beach was okay (it’s kind of rocky) so bring water shoes if you are beach people. Staff was friendly and very helpful, and tried to make our stay comfortable and enjoyable. Pool policies that we personally loved: You cannot place towels in the morning on chairs by the pool and leave them there, which for that policy alone, I would book again. It’s so frustrating to see towels on chairs all day when people aren’t in them and other people could be enjoying spaces by the pool. This was a great policy and I hope more places adopt it. My biggest suggestion was maybe more pool party music, there was a foam party one day and had some great music, so more fun music at the pool, but pretty minor in the scheme of things. Overall, this was a great hotel and we would go back again."

"The rooms are beautiful and the property is extraordinary. Great food and helpful staff throughout the property. You will be lost on the property the first few days. We found we didn’t need to put our request list in for restaurants and walked in regardless but came at a slower time. Only thing I wasn’t a fan of is not being able to see menus before booking/going into the restaurants.. leading to being in a place we had two people out of three not having any food choices and we had to walk away. We will be returning and recommend it to anyone who it fits within their budget. "

"Loved the food, came here for the second time. Restaurant wait times took up to 40 minutes, but worth the wait. Excellent cocktails, espresso martinis and whiskey sours. Overall an excellent authentic Mexican experience "
