"Great tours and guides, great jungle location. All else good, however the dinner meals are often, I would say "uninspired". This needs some improvement."

"We had the place to ourselves and the beautiful wildlife right on the river. Shanna and Kenny were wonderful and handled every aspect of our trip. The pool and bbq were fun! I would definitely stay here again. The family of Howler Monkeys with babies were my favorite part. Peaceful, serene, and in the jungle."

"What a beautiful resort! Kaleb was our host checking in. Very professional and friendly. There was a small issue with our room, but it was quickly rectified beyond our expectations. The rooms were immaculate, spacious and had everything you would need for a comfortable stay. The grounds were absolutely gorgeous with giant iguanas running around. We dined at the restaurant. The food was delicious and the service was outstanding. We had a chance to interact with the owner Beverly and she was wonderful and gracious. Upon checking out, I interacted with Dryane, again, very professional and friendly. I chose this location as it was close to both Altun Ha and the Baboon sanctuary, which both come highly recommended from me. Black Orchid is a wonderful place to stay. I hope to return someday."

"Friendly staff, great atmosphere. The horse riding was amazing! The owners are absolutely amazing. Dinner and breakfast are overpriced for what you get. The rooms are spacious and the design is fancy. Only thing is that it's a bit run-down and would benefit from some renovations. "

"Shanna was so kind taking care of all our needs. She made our first international trip feel easy. If you're thinking about staying here I would not hesitate. It's truly an amazing jungle experience. The howler monkeys were so amazing to sit and watch. We had a few baby howlers which were adorable. The little crocodile in the pond was fun to see. Thanks again for an amazing stay!"

"Be prepared to live out of your suitcase, no storage, very small casita. Lots of issues with hot water, due to being of grid. Long ways from San Pedro or secret beach so golf cart is a must. "
