It is quite amazing owners and incredibly friendly staff and it’s homely . A lot of thought has gone into room decor and just nothing corporate about it
Stayed for 2 nights whilst on business in Reading. Very comfortable room, great food and staff are so friendly.
I arrived late on the first night so Mark made me an off the menu snack which was very much appreciated.
A big thank you to Sue - my car had a flat battery in the morning and she leant me jump leads and helped try to start my car - all sorted in the end and I'm very grateful.
Would definitely stay again.

Good space and facilities in room. Nice food and great staff attitude. Opening windows are good! Some facilities like towel rail needed updating.

Nice hotel. Nothing special but nothing wrong with it.
This was our second visit to this hotel. The hotel is spacious and clean with beautiful gardens with a pleasant outdoor seating area. The staff are friendly and helpful and you can tell they care about their customers. The breakfast was also excellent. We will definitely visit again.

Lovely setting in a convenient location, rooms and furnishings are a little tired and rooms need some TLC, although function fine.
Had a staff member walk into my room, without knocking - he carried on describing the room to a potential guest and pretended not to see me lying on the bed !!! a mumbled non apology and nothing was mentioned afterwards when he was querying my breakfast timings, very uncomfortable - won’t be staying again.
Beautiful property with a few rooms. More of a wedding venue with nice back garden and large dining room . Our room was large. Some toilet and shower issues but not a deal stopper. Spotty Wi-Fi . About 40 minutes from Heathrow. Not too much else nearby - we stayed as staging area to get into Heathrow and to avoid chain hotels. Priced appropriately in my opinion
Great service, prompt fix on TV good rooms and good location, evening meal and breakfast superb. Definitely stay again when in location or even when working in Basingstoke.

The Mill House Hotel
Such a friendly and comfortable hotel, can't think of a negative but positives are too many to mention. Dinner and overnight stay excellent from start to finish. Thanks to everyone.
Another wonderful stay at the Mill House. Lovely to see things slowly getting back to normal and business picking up. Mark and Kim, along with Anita and Andrew, ensured the time spent there is enjoyed to the full.
A perfect stay during a few days away with work. Mark and Kim, were excellent hosts and made my stay very enjoyable. Unfortunately, the weather spoilt any chance of enjoying some time in the garden areas, however the food, drink, service and overall experience were brilliant.

Thanks for the great feedback Ben. Hopefully you will be able to enjoy the restaurant and gardens on your next visit. Best regards Mark & Kim
Room was set up for 1 person therefore additional towels were brought - didn’t need to ask for them. Mean supply of milk, coffee and teabags. Shower wasn’t working and was not the type/standard we would have expected. Forgot to tell them that at check out because I thought I’d paid for B&B so had to pay for breakfast. I was asked to pay the evening before but wasn’t offered to upgrade or reminded of what I’d booked. All in all the hotel was in need of refurbishment and the focus seemed to be on providing a wedding venue.
Welcome and service very positive
Waitress forgot to ask me if I wanted a drink when seated for eve meal but was very apologetic
Felt having eaten and ordered that the soup was expensive at £6-50 but main course tasty and pleasant was better value. Decided not to stay for breakfast based on evening experience.
Pillows uncomfortable. Bathroom clean and well equipped but could do with some modernisation.
Parking facility very good and location handy for Reading & Maidenhead which is a plus
Quiet area. Overall nothing poor but nothing exceptional either
Good price for a quiet place, convenient for M4 and Reading. Twin room on top floor at back was good size, comfortable bed and furnishings. Bathroom was a little narrow. Electric shower proved to be hotter and better pressure than I feared. Evening meal: decent steak with good flavour and proper chips. It was good to be in hotel that gave at least some choice of ale rather than the usual standard mass-produced draft. I'll definitely consider staying again.

A cozy hotel, be careful on room choice though
This is not your classic hotel, it's the type of place designed for weddings or business events. It's a lovely pretty hotel with some great outside space and maybe a dozen rooms.
It's an old hotel (locks with keys on the doors etc.). Despite this the rooms are well cared for and looked after. The only room left when I booked was the single room, which was next to some extractor vent which hummed all night. If you stay I'd strongly suggest avoiding that room.
There is parking out the front, and I believe overspill parking behind the hotel somewhere. I didn't have breakfast at the hotel so cannot comment on that. I'd stay here again if I was at an event here, otherwise it's a bit in the middle of nowhere.
