"Marino Beach hotel was a welcome surprise. The lobby is beautiful, and the staff is exceptionally friendly and professional. The buffet was overflowing with variety, perhaps better than the Shangri-La. My only note is that if you are a light sleeper, the walls are very thin, and there is a lot of noise. Not from outside, such as traffic, but noise of other guests and cleaners slamming doors, etc. If not for this, it would be my favorite hotel in Colombo."

"We arrived after checkin time but the room was still not ready. The person on the desk took a mop and bucket in himself. Left some clothes on the floor in the bathroom while showering and they got dusty from the dirty floor. The bedroom floor had been mopped but was still gritty to walk on. Left some clean clothes on the desk to wear while flying home the next day. In the morning they were soaked through from the ceiling leaking water. We told someone but he didn’t seem to care. No idea about breakfast as we were not told anything about whether it is even available. The bed and shower are good, but that’s about it. Our stay was very disappointing, as was our dinner at the attached restaurant next door."

"Their service was excellent. They were super helpful. I wanted to check-out early the next morning, so I went to the reception that night and informed them to do a quick process for the check-out. They were not only very helpful regarding the check-out process but also this gentleman at the lobby packed my breakfast just because I would not be there to have breakfast. The next morning they gave me a big box of breakfast with everything I like. Honestly the best and very caring place I have ever been. Hospitality at it's best! Will definitely recommend to others."

"while I was checking in front desk staff specifically one girl was very rude, I might never being rude with my guest like that while working. Then there room floor was not that clean also the window glass. I booked sea view room due to the blurr window i couldn’t enjoy the view that much. AC was not working on the night. We called on the front desk told them the problem but they didn’t respond. On the breakfast there is a old guy working he was literally racist.. He asked me 3/4 times that which room I am staying in and do I know breakfast is not included with our stay. on the other hand he was literally licking another white guest was there. I never expected this kind of behaviour. The Ocean colombo hotel stay was worst part of my trip on sri lanka."
