"Parking was plentiful. Easy access from the Berlin Turnpike. Only a few residents outside smoking weed in their cars nightly . Even though it’s stated on the website non smoking property. Pets were minimal which is a nice change from Super 8 Cromwell where weed was everywhere all over the place -and pets were many . Days inn staff are respectful and pleasant. Continental Breakfast 7-10am was a great change from Super 8 …which sadly only provided coffee and hard crunchy granola bars / Days inn offered oranges , mini muffins, bagels and cream cheese ,cereal toast , coffee . Housekeeping promptly starts at 11am . Their new policy would have you get room services after 3 days . The upstairs hallway stairwell needed repairs being an older building. The rooms were large and the heating worked well. Shower water pressure was good . Clientele varied from to the occasional party people . You never knew who would be next to you. Staying at any local Low to mid range motels seem to be …in my recent experience these past months to be …at the mercy of those living month to month versus the visitor or traveler. Long term residents in2025/2026 just are less respectful and more entitled . At least at Days inn there was a smaller amount of this attitude than at super 8 Cromwell. You get what you pay for … those who don’t care to be quiet and respectful of the rules or have curtesy can’t afford the or Marriott and those of us on a budget must share the hallways and common areas ."

"I had a really great stay at this Red Roof Inn. The room was super clean, which is my number one priority, so that was a big win. Everything felt comfortable and well kept. The staff was friendly and made everything easy, and there was plenty of parking, which was a huge plus. The location is also really convenient! Close to restaurants, fast food, pharmacies, and right near the highway. Overall, a simple, clean, no-stress stay. I’d definitely stay here again!"

"This place is a safety and security nightmare! I was getting into town later than anticipated, so I called earlier in the day to make sure that I would be able to check in between 9:30-10pm. The receptionist says, that's no problem. I arrive at the hotel at 9:45pm, and the door is locked. There are two phone numbers on the door. One goes unanswered. The second is answered, and I am told that someone on staff will come let me in. I wait and I get a call back saying that my "key" is in the drop box next to the door. So, I open the box and my FULL NAME, ROOM NUMBER, and KEY PAD CODE are all just fully available to anyone who may stroll by. So, anyone in town could come find out who I am, what room I'm staying in, and the key pad code to let themselves into my room. I wedged my chair under the door handle for the night, which didn't feel great, since this place also doesn't have fire sprinklers in the rooms. I loved downtown Niantic, but I will not be staying here a second time."

"The outside was not very clean. There were cigarette butts all over the place and somebody spilled something sticky right by the door and it was not cleaned up in two days."
