"Jogamos dinheiro no lixo. O local, apesar de superfaturado, é bonito, mas não vale a pena. Quando chegamos, parecia fácil caminhar até o centro da cidade; que é relativamente longe para ir e voltar mais de uma vez por dia. "Brilliant property in the centre. Their parking is just opposite the reception entrance, you just need to jump out and ask them to open the gate. Very tight parking in there, but doable. Amazing location, friendly staff, nice rooms, and restaurant on site is most cost effective and one of the nicest in the town. "

Just outside San Pedro de Atacama are the ruins of a 12th-century fort built atop a promontory overlooking the Rio San Pedro. It was built by the Atacameños to protect themselves from the expanding Inca Empire, but the real threat came centuries later when the Conquistadors invaded and conquered the fortress in 1540 (and beheaded some 300 chiefs). Worth a visit, particularly for the panoramic desert views from the top.
