"The stay at Maya was nice and the area was beautiful. The Villas are very peaceful as well as the whole property. There is a nice calm feeling at this resort as it feels secluded even though it is very close to the downtown Ubud area. The live performances at dinner were a fun addition; if that be the traditional dancing at the main restaurant or the band doing cover songs at the bar. We are giving Maya 4 stars rather than 5 because a lot of the amenities stopped between 5 and 7 which created multiple inconvenient experiences on trip. For example, the tram is a great amenity that takes guests to downtown Ubud but it only runs from 9am to 5pm. This is such an early time to be shutting down this amenity. In addition the pools and spa close at 7pm which seems very early. Regardless of the amenities, this was a very nice resort to have some calm and just be."

The keepers have a lovely bond with their elephants. Would love to return here again one day. The property itself is stunning—lush jungle views, a serene pool, beautiful rooms, spa, gym, and unique funiculars with friendly operators always ready to help. But ultimately, it’s the people who make this place special. When we left, staff—including the manager—came out to wave goodbye. We weren’t ready to go. Sometimes, it’s the family you make along the way—and here, you truly find one."
