We came in late night around midnight or 1am on both trips and each time there was a staff member waiting to check us in. Super appreciative of that level of service!! The Black Rooster is a collection of 3 separate buildings and we've stayed in 2 of them so far, each time the rooms have been clean and beds comfortable. Great facilities and easy parking around the buildings. They even offer pet friendly rooms. Highly recommend staying here when you visit or pass through Prince Rupert!!

Welcoming, just like home

We arrived at midnight after the 16 hour ferry from Port Hardy and the check-in service was amazing. The gentleman was kind, efficient and made us feel so welcome. The room was super clean and had everything we needed to feel at home. It was also so quiet! Highly recommend!

Wonderful, stress-free stay

Very cozy location, very quiet but close to downtown. Staff were very respectful and helpful, and even helped me out when I forgot my keycard late one evening despite every insurance on their part that guests do not do so. Has a very unique blend of private/social that not many other places can support. Lovely social area outside, and a barbecue for guest use is a bonus! This would be a great place for a group of friends/travellers to stay together with the blended apartment/suite model. Will definitely stay here again given the opportunity!

There aren’t many options for a stay in prince rupert and we liked the idea of having a full kitchen so we could cook etc. Room smelled like deep fry oil for our 3 night stay and many of the dishes were dirty, requiring us to wash before using and again after. Dish washer had chunks of food in it. Gross. Beds were clean and comfy. Furniture is tired and feels unsanitary. Bathroom door didn’t close fully and tub had soft spots. Host was awesome and stayed up late for our arrival on the ferry (1am!! Thank you so much!) We spent most of our time out of the suite so didn’t make a deal of the uncleanliness to the host. Convenient location.

I've being staying here for years for my annual fishing trip and really like the location. The property needs to be updated. The bed was terrible, the floors squeak, and you can barely close the doors as they do not fit properly. I no longer recommend it to my fishing buddies.

Spacious and clean 1 bedroom apartment with well equip kitchen, good wifi, lighting, washroom and comfortable bed. Laundry facilities are available as as well for $2 wash including detergent and $3 dry. We had a lower unit and there was a little noise upstairs but it didn’t last long so we didn’t mind. Your just outside the main bustle of Prince Rupert but walkable within 10-15 mins. Overall a nice comfortable place.
