The area is quiet at night for a good sleep, the yard and gardens lovely, and an excellent pub close by. We really hope to be back one day."

"Was a great old cottage with lots of character, however does have low ceilings downstairs and a very low hallway upstairs. The property was on a farm which was great for our 2 year old to look at all the animals and to walk around."

"Owners were nice, helpful and friendly. They cooked a very good poached egg. Room was spacious with own private bathroom. Was cold when we arrived but was able to sort heating and it heated up quickly. One little problem, the toilet seat was broken."

"We had an absolutely wonderful stay at Chestnut Tree. Lisa, the host was the main reason, she is a great communicator which is important when booking. She was so very helpful with local information and incredibly kind. Our room was beautiful and the amenities in the bathroom delightful. "The property was exactly as described. We wanted a holiday deep in the countryside with lots of gardens and National Trust properties to visit. The WiFi was fine in the house but a bit iffy in the area. Not the hosts fault!My only criticism would be that the mattress was a bit too soft for my comfort and that the kitchen could do with more implements. "
