"Perfect accommodation—the highlight of our three week trip in Canada so far. Very well-equipped kitchen, thoughtfully and tastefully decorated accommodation, fluffy towels, super comfy bed, unbeatable view—the place was worth every cent and more. Highly recommend that anyone visiting Malcolm Island and the welcoming community of Sointula stay here. Already considering when we can plan our return trip from Germany."

"It is a clean, nice place with great beds. David is a good host and it was easy to get into and out of the unit. The outside of the building isn’t special, but the inside of his unit is very nice. The location is terrific and a great view of the sound. Port Alice is a great little quiet town, nestled in a remote area of the island. Perfect get away and or fishing trip. Dave also helped us find a boat to charter and we did well fishing:). Great trip. Thanks David."

"It had the most amazing view!! My only suggestion would be to buy groceries before you get on the island because the grocery store is very expensive and everywhere you can order a meal is either closed very early or only open a couple days a week. Beautiful place though and Lynne was amazing! Loved staying at Orca Lodge."

"The Pioneer Inn is an older property which appears from the outside to have seen better days. However the friendly new owners are upgrading the interior. Our room was spacious & the beds were lovely. The floors were redone with new flooring , bathrooms vanity. etc. The restaurant which is run by the hotel owners has delicious Asian food. I enjoyed the beautifully presented tempura."

"The house was very clean and comfortable with a well-equipped kitchen and a wonderful abundance of houseplants. The view was truly fabulous, whether sunny or rainy; it was mesmerizing watching the fog roll through. The owner kindly shared tips and suggestions for the area. Some of the windows lacked screens and some furniture and appliances were on the older side, but everything worked well. Overall, a serene, cozy experience. We'd love to stay there again!"
