A high bank ocean front home, perched on a perfect plot of bluff where the stream meets the sea. "The Hideaway House" is a 3 bedroom, 2 bathroom home. Tucked away at the end of a road beyond our award-winning rental community, with unobstructed views of the Strait of Juan de Fuca, including ship traffic, Bald Eagles nesting in nearby trees, and the occasional pod of whales. This sweet home is tastefully furnished, private and secluded, and exceptionally clean and comfortable. It has everything you need to enjoy some Pacific Northwest life with your loved ones including wifi internet, wood burning wood stove, well equipped kitchen, washer and dryer, BBQ grill on the back porch, solarium sitting room, a big grassy yard... and a ton of nature trails as well as a private hike to the beach if you're adventure seeking!
You will share our private beach trail with our other guests at Hunters' Gate Homes. It is a gated, five minute hike with some large steps which are not easily navigated by small children or inexperienced hikers. Once down to the bottom you will be rewarded with a beautiful beach where the fresh creek water forms a lagoon that spills out into the salt water Strait of Juan de Fuca. You can walk and beach comb to the Dungeness Spit or head in a westerly direction toward Port Angeles.
The quaint little neighborhood store, Agnew Grocery & Feed, is only a five minute drive away, offering fresh local produce and a large selection of wine and other refreshments besides the basic grocery items. Sunny Farms Country Store is only ten minutes away where you'll find a larger variety of items including a deli and a fresh fish and meat market.
There are four restaurants all within a ten minute drive which are all highly recommended. If you want to venture further away, both Sequim and Port Angeles each only a twenty minute drive offer many more choices for shopping and dining.
The start of the road up to Hurricane Ridge and the Olympic National Park is a short twenty minute drive. You can plan longer day trips to the Pacific Ocean and the Hoh Rainforest and return after your adventure to our quiet, restful, tranquil treasure, the Hideaway House.

Beautiful property with amazing views! Our family enjoyed our stay here so much! We loved the short hiking trail down to the beach and saw deer and bald eagles each day of our stay. House had everything we needed.
Blown away by the mountain views and the water views. Walked out and saw deer in the neighborhood every night. Sitting in the living room we saw multiple eagles diving for a catch. It was fantastic!! Like something out of a postcard!
We enjoyed our stay while hiking Olympic National Park. From the moment we walked in we were taken away by the view. Home was very clean and comfortable. So peaceful.
This location was everything that I needed to work on my healing journey. The location on top of a mountain the ocean. At night the windows were open we slept to sound of the waves crashing.
We loved the ocean views from window and deer in the neighborhood, Also saw eagle. Its a bit of effort to get up from beach (easy going down), but its wonderful long beach to walk. The house was a bit older, but very comfortable. The owners were very helpful and kind. It was one of our favorite places to say on our trip.
My sis and I loved staying in your home. The views from every part of the house are so beautiful. We have photos of deer jumping over the fence in the front yard!
Warm, cozy, with everything we needed for a nice stay.
Thanks for sharing with us!

Liked: Cleanliness, check-in, location
Old men's egos should listen to their bodies.
Excellent views and location but beds were not adequate for 6 80 year old men. Only 2 were capable of using the beach trail but it rained both days. Otherwise a fantastic experience.
We loved staying here. The huge windows allowed us to really savor the beautiful views. The private beach was a fun surprise for our teens and a great way to enjoy beach view without any crowds. The house had such a nostalgic feel of going to grandma and grandpa’s too that we enjoyed. Wish we could have stayed longer!
The location was perfect, and the views were absolutely incredible. Our family of five had plenty of space to relax and enjoy the stay. The walk to the beach is a bit of a workout, but very doable and adds to the experience. The interior is a bit dated, but everything was clean and functional—well worth it for the setting and overall value!
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at the Hideaway. Check in was extremely easy. The house was clean and ready for our relaxation. The view of the ocean and beach is incredible and eagles, deer and squirrels made an appearance around the yard. We felt at home with an ample kitchen and dining area. Large picture windows create an amazing view. Plenty of room to gather and enjoy the scenery. Walking the nature trails was a wonderful bonus.
Beautiful location. In addition to the spectacular views, the beach walk was a real plus. Enjoyed the bald eagles! Kitchen is very well equipped & nice to have laundry facilities.
The house had everything we needed and it was easy to find. It was set back from the road and ver quite and peaceful. We really enjoyed our time there.
This property is phenomenal and the photos do not do it justice. The location is incredibly beautiful: right on the cliff overlooking the water surrounded by beautiful trees. The house itself is cozy yet spacious and has amazing views. We were 5 adults who came to celebrate a birthday and New Year’s Eve, and we enjoyed sitting by the fire, cooking, and going for walks. Very comfortable sleeping too
No question that the views at this place are incredible. The sunsets and sunrises were amazing. The beach trail is not an easy walk - it was fine for us but if you have anyone with mobility challenges they will not be able to do it. It's not long but it's pretty steep and a bit of a challenge. But the ability to get down to the water was very nice. The house itself is fine - a bit dated and the quirky thing is that while there are three bedrooms in one wing of the house only one of the bathrooms is in that wing and the other bathroom is on the other side of the house. That was a surprise to me - wasn't a huge issue for us but it is something to consider. Also, the host has a dehumidifier in the house because I think the moisture from the proximity to the water makes the house a bit musty - there is a slightly musty smell to the air. The garage is not usable to park your car in it as there is a couch and a floor rug in it along with a lot of other stuff so parking is in the driveway - there is plenty of room to park in the driveway though. Also, while the host did not mention it, I'm pretty sure the water is well water as it had a bit of a sulphuric taste to it so you might want to bring bottled water if you are sensitive to that. The host was responsive when I had questions prior to arrival but we didn't have any communication with them once we arrived.
The location is amazing, overlooking the bay. The home is older, well maintained, with all the amenities of home. You have some visitors everyday with the deer that climb up and down the bluff. Close to hiking trails, just outside the busy hussle and bussle of town. Would love to return someday.
