"The property was in a good location and the rooms was clean and beds were comfortable. There is no staff but we had no problems so did not need anyone. I would recommen d the property to anyone visiting Dunsmuir."

"We stayed in the treehouse cabin with our toddler and had a wonderful time. He loved playing in the giant jacuzzi bathtub! The room was spacious and well furnished with a king sized bed and a queen sized pull out couch bed. The view was lovely, though admittedly I believe it would have been more so in the winter time. We experienced an issue with the toilet in the room immediately after checking in and the staff was wonderful. It was a total one off, nothing they could have predicted and they were so great throughout the whole issue, communicating frequently and working with us to ensure we found a solution that worked for everyone. It was incredibly hot during our stay but the room A/C kept the whole cabin cool and was whisper quiet. It was a nice treat to have breakfast brought to your room each morning, though our family was not a fan of some of the dishes. Things to know about the stay: when they say there are no services, there are no services. You pretty much have to make the trek to Redding if you need anything. Also, this particular room, the treehouse cabin, is on stilts. This is way cool, and lends so much privacy to the room. It does, however, mean the room sways a bit, which may bother some guests. We were not bothered by it at all. Wonderful staff, lovely view, clean spacious room. All and all an excellent stay."

"We stayed at this property for a week and overall enjoyed our stay. The home was clean, quiet, easy to access, and the beds were comfortable. We enjoyed the mountain views, seeing the lights from I-5 in the distance at night, and especially hearing the train whistle from afar.However, several aspects did not match the listing. The deck photos appear outdated, as the deck no longer looks like the pictures shown online. Several boards were lifting, there were a few holes, and guests should use caution when walking barefoot. The two white outdoor chairs were weathered, warped, and unstable due to stripped screws. The hammock shown in the photos was also not present.There was a newer round fire table on the deck, which made a nice gathering spot for meals and card games.The listing advertises air conditioning, but it is actually a swamp cooler. During our stay, the house became quite warm at night, even with the three portable fans provided.While the listing mentions room for boats, RVs, and other toys, much of the property is sloped. The final mile of road is steep, winding, and partially unpaved, which could make maneuvering larger trailers challenging.Overall, we enjoyed the peaceful setting, comfortable accommodations, and beautiful views, but feel the listing photos and description should be updated to better reflect the property's current condition and amenities."

"We recently spent three wonderful nights at Dena's charming vacation rental in Dunsmuir, and our experience exceeded all expectations.From the start, Dena was incredibly helpful and made sure our stay was comfortable. Her directions were clear and easy to follow, making our arrival stress-free. I had mentioned that this trip was a birthday getaway for my husband and me, so we were delighted to arrive and find birthday banners and fresh flowers waiting for us. Such a thoughtful and unexpected touch!The home was exactly as advertised—clean, comfortable, and filled with eclectic décor that perfectly complemented its historic character. It had a nostalgic, retro charm that made it both unique and inviting.We enjoyed strolling through the quaint streets of Dunsmuir, dining at several local restaurants, and meeting friendly, welcoming people where ever we went. The town itself is a hidden gem, and Dena's home was the perfect place from which to enjoy it.We couldn't have been more pleased with our stay and would happily return. Thank you, Dena, for helping make our birthday trip so memorable!"
