"I had call in advance to provide a crib for my daughter. When I check in the crib was not in my room. The my husband went to ask for one and they told him they didn’t have anymore. My daughter ended sleeping with us. It was such an inconvenience!! We had no sleep that night! "

"The Shores is a charming old style hotel right on the beach. We have stayed here before. Unfortunately, they were under construction, hence it was a little noisy and no use of the pool. They did provide a shuttle to a lovely hotel in downtown La Jolla. Staff is friendly. Restaurant is very good. We had breakfast, lunch and dinner. Morning coffee station had very good coffee. We would stay there again. "

"Find a better option. This place was understaffed. Our room was dirty when we checked in. There is only one restaurant on site and it is terrible. The kids had fun at the pool but there was only one person watching the entire pool. "

"Love that this hotel is dog-friendly, just wish pets were also allowed around the property- at the restaurants and pool. Otherwise it is a great hotel with great amenities and friendly staff. Will definitely be back! "

"The staff were fine, no problem there. The room was very small, meh, but the bathroom smelled strongly of cat urine. I love cats, they should be allowed in hotels, but y'all gotta get some Nature's Miracle or something for when one of them pees in a room. The shower floor was very chipped up and nasty looking, the toilet seat scratched up. It's right in a busy shopping center by the freeway, so it was loud all night, plus random hotel guests screaming in the middle of the night and being generally noisy all night long. Very hard bed. Unpleasant stay overall, didn't bother showering in the cat pee bathroom. "

"Outstanding staff and communication. Location was just a few miles from the beach and other attractions. Bed was comfy and shower had amazing water pressure. Breakfast was great with lots of different choices and I felt very safe there traveling alone. I will return the next time I am in Carlsbad. Thank you so much to everyone!!"

"Room was expensive and came with nothing. 2 tiny trash bags. And face wash/lotion...no hand soap. Didnt say construction was going on. I wouldnt come back. Wish i wouldnt have wasted the money"
