"We had an overall very good experience at Hotel Bosque del Mar. When we arrived, we decided we really wanted an oceanfront room, and since we were visiting during low season, the staff was very accommodating and helped us upgrade later that day. The upgraded room was beautiful, clean, and directly facing the ocean, with a lovely outdoor bathtub that made it feel extra special. The property itself is very peaceful, and the beach was definitely our favorite part. The sunsets here are absolutely gorgeous—we even had one evening where we could see a beautiful sunset and a rainbow at the same time. The beach was great for walking, and there were chairs available outside for hotel guests to relax and enjoy the view. We also enjoyed the second-floor area with the pool table, where we spent some time playing, having drinks, and relaxing. The drinks were delicious and reasonably priced, and we also enjoyed an appetizer from the bar. The staff throughout our stay was friendly and helpful. Overall, it was a nice and relaxing stay, and we would recommend Hotel Bosque del Mar, especially if you are looking for a beachfront property where you can enjoy some truly beautiful Costa Rican sunsets."

"The hotel is located at a 3min walk from Playa Hermosa. The property is really well maintained and has all amenities. We booked the Jr. suite which was clean and kitchen fully stocked with appliances like a full size fridge, toaster, microwave, induction and a coffee maker. They also had cutlery stocked up in the cabinets which made it easier to use. The only hiccup we faced was the WiFi that didn't seem to work when we arrived in our first room but the staff was helpful and changed our room on request. The breakfast was filling and really tasty, as well as the service was really attentive. Thank you for a great stay experience. If you're planning to stay in Costa Rica for a long time, choose this hotel as it'll be easier for you to navigate. Thank you for the staff the check-in and check-out went smoothly."

"Great property and great location. Very quiet and private. Walking distance to really good restaurants. Kids had a blast with the crabs and night and the beach during the day. The caretaker, Nelson, was amazing and so helpful!! We had a great time."

"Our family of 8 just returned from a 9-day trip to Costa Rica, and it ranks among the best vacations our family has ever taken. Costa Rica delivered on every front: incredible adventures, amazing food, and a gorgeous house.What made this trip truly special was the team who supported us throughout. From the moment we arrived, we felt completely taken care of. The concierge team helped us plan our excursions and meals each day and were always available to answer questions — no matter how big or small. Victor, our driver, was an absolute gem: professional, warm, and always with a smile on his face. We never once worried about navigation or logistics, which meant we could simply be present and enjoy every moment together. Maria, our housekeeper, prepared a traditional Costa Rican breakfast for us each morning, and it was delicious every single time. The chef rounded out a team that made our whole vacation feel effortless and extraordinary.The house itself is stunning. The sunset view from the pool is the kind of thing you have to see to believe — we took what felt like a thousand photos! "The house is amazing. But that Rooster has got to go. Pay the neighbors to get rid of their chickens so the Rooster will go elsewhere. Starts at 3 am and lasts until 7am. Super loud next to house. I could not sleep through it. I would love to return. But that Rooster is a big problem for me."

"The pool, location, and view made this the perfect stay for our group. Beautiful! We took adventure of having groceries delivered prior to our arrival and were so glad we did. Made our arrival so much easier!The things that would have made this stay better: more chairs/comfy chais on the front patio to enjoy as a group, cleaning supplies and kitchen items (tin foil/related items, pans, spices), and the coffee makers didn’t seem to work well."
