The overall stay was very good, staff was very nice and happy to accommodate for us. However pool side bar was not open at all, which was a little disappointing as it was advertised when we booked. Also the water temperature for the shower was not the best, had to have quick showers. Overall stay would be 3.6/5!

Good for the price but way too loud at night

The hotel is nice the service you get upon arrival is good and the rooms are nice and big with comfy beds. The only two cons I have about this hotel is the housekeeper.. she was honestly the worst I’ve come across doesn’t clean the rooms properly doesn’t change the sheets and leaves the floors dirty and it takes her forever to come and clean your room she’s so slow. The property is still having work done to it so there’s noise from around 1am-5am and it’s very loud like if you have small children they’d be woken up so on that note I wouldn’t stay here again.

Would come again

Areca is a great place to stay for those who want to do their own thing and explore by own vehicles. It is 15min drive away from patong which is perfect for those who don’t want to hear the music and hassle all the time. We found it great value for budget travel. At the moment they are renovating the other building of the hotel, this however did not disturb the peace at all. Great breakfast and big parking. Would come again!

Renovation going on at the hotel, didn't disturb me because my room was on the 2nd building. Air inside the hotel moist and still, in the room air-con was ok. Spa was closed, swimming pool ok for kids maybe. Gym was minimal. Breakfast in a cafe next to hotel, was ok but small.

The room was nice and cosy with a nice view on the swimming pool. We didn't that we haven't been informed in advance that spa is under construction and is currently not working. Apart from that the rest was good.

The pictures are fake! Stay away from this place. No spa, no restaurant, no lobby, no reception, no pool. Only kids pools are available. Nobody speaks English. They have a bar with a very loud music opening late night and till morning. It's not possible to sleep till 4am even in the 2nd building which is pretty far from this bar.

Need improve for the hotel

The hotel is still under renovation. Below is few comment. 1) Worst is shower no hot water. Found water leaking to the electric water heater and the electrical cable at the facility room. Not sure this water leaking will cause electric shock problems to our guests. 2) No spa and no massage service in the hotel. 3) Advertise photo hotel is different from the actual hotel. Please don't advertise the hotel if the hotel is not ready condition.

The staff was unfriendly and did not want to help us when we asked them something. They lied about the gym. We could not use it there was mold EVERYWHERE! Furthermore this is definetely not a 5 Star hotel i dont know why expedia has listed it like that, if you google it it only has 3 stars. Which also is not correct if you would ask us.

När vi besökte hotellet var det en byggarbetsplats mitt uppe i fullskalig renovering. Ingen resturang öppen. Provisorisk reception och ingen vidare hjälpsam personal. Det var inte vad vi förväntade oss av ett hotell med 5 stjärnor. Dock var rummen fina och rena. När renoveringen är klar tror jag det kan vara ett fint ställe att bo på.

Brilliant staff.

The most friendly and accommodating staff I’ve encountered. Nothing was too much trouble. I had a desk, office chair and router installed in my room. Plus I got a bigger TV! Highly recommended.
