About this property

Entire place

You'll have the entire home to yourself and will only share it with other guests in your party.

Sleeps 6 in the Cumbria Lake District and Yorkshire Dales National Parks.

This delightful, quirky cottage in the centre of Orton Village next to the local chocolate factory is a large, bright and welcoming family home from home with elements of contemporary style but packed with traditional features. The holiday home is situated in the picturesque village of Orton with a monthly farmers market, shop, pub, chocolate factory and café. The village lies between the Lake District, Yorkshire Dales and the Eden Valley, making it an ideal touring base. Wainwright’s ’Coast to Coast’ walk passes through the village, with numerous footpaths and cycle routes meandering through beautiful surrounding countryside. As Threeways is nearly three hundred years old, it is vulnerable to condensation.
To look after both our guests and the house, you will find all the interior doors open to allow the movement of air until you arrive and have a dehumidifier built into the loft which recirculates dry air from a vent at the top of the stairs. It will be running all the time, but is very quiet, so is only noticeable in the hallway.

Fantastic Cottage in a perfect location to travel to Lakes and Dales
6 of us, 4 humans and 2 labradors stayed at the Three Ways cottage in Orton for a week, we loved our stay. Beautiful and amazingly spacious cottage with so much space and homely comforts, our perfect home away from home. Will certainly come back again. The village of Orton is perfectly placed for travel to Lakes and Dales and the Tebay services have great local produce and cheapest fuel. We had a fantastic stay

Good location and comfortable for a family.
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay in Orton. The village is small and quiet and conveniently nearby all the things we were planning to see. The house was comfortable and well stocked and our family enjoyed our stay. Would definitely stay again.

Wonderful break
We had a lovely, relaxing break in this cottage between Christmas and New Year. It had everything we could want. The place was cosy and welcoming. The layout of the house was particularly good, with two showers, three toilets and two downstairs rooms as well as the kitchen, there was plenty of space for us all to chill out together and also have quieter spaces, not get in each others way, if needed (very helpful for teenagers and young adults!). Facilities such as wifi, netflix etc were also much appreciated. The pub, cafe and village shop were all only two mins away as well. All in all, we would highly recommend this place

A great cottage in a lovely village.
We had a lovely stay at Three Ways Cottage. It was clean, spacious and cool in the hot weather. Orton is a lovely friendly village with a good pub serving decent meals. The chocolate factory was a hit, especially the ice cream they serve. Location is within easy reach of Windermere and Consiton lakes and the Orton Scar walk from the village is well worth the effort. Many thanks.

Family holiday
Good location for exploring Cumbria, Yorkshire and beyond. Lovely village with pub and shop on the doorstep as well as a kids playground and lovely area to walk the dog. Property was clean with everything we needed including dishwasher for those of us who are too lazy to wash the dishes by hand as well as a washing machine and tumble drier for when the 10 year old forgot to pack all his clothes (he insisted on doing his own packing). Plenty of towels and bedding if needed and lovely little touches - coffee, tea and milk as well as shortbread to start you off when you arrive. The only negative was the tricky hot water system which we struggled to work out. Overall a lovely place to stay which I would definitely recommend.
