Cheap Hotels & Resorts in Penang Island from AU$17

Li and Chan, the owner/managers are extremely helpful and cheerful hosts. Made me feel at home right from the word go. The room was neat and very clean. Everything worked. Location is a bit of a hike from jetty but in a good area nonetheless. Hire a scooter and explore the island with Batu Ferringi as your base. Excellent stay at Rasa motel. Will stay Herr again when I come back to Penang.

Lovely aesthetics Great amenities Sweet spot location Cool staff Awesome mini cafe Personal con : can get too hot in the common area upstairs

Difficult for me to give a review. First of all: The staff is absolutely wonderful and the location is great but like so many other places in Malaysia, the quality of the rooms and shared bathrooms is just not the same standard as in other Asian countries. The room itself was small but big enough for us, the ac worked great. The mattress was too old and soft. Comfortable room. Central location. Host was very helpful

Great location, checking in and out is simple and really good value for money. Wasn’t really a fan of the bathroom and toilet situation. But the most annoying thing was the noise generated by the AC and the fan in the bathroom. So hard to sleep at night.

Room was not small, not big, just right. I am a solo traveller, but the room is big enough for 2 people. Clean and comfortable. Blockout curtains and no noise from the street or from inside the hotel. Staff were friendly and helpful. Free drinking water station provided so you can refill your bottle, or you can purchase bottled water from reception (as well as other drinks, snacks, travel adaptors etc.) Free iron provided in common area. Hotel has a lift as well as stairs. Thai restaurant...

Location was excellent. Host was fantastic and very friendly and accomodating. Highly recommended.

Very clean although still bedbugs. Air con great. Popular hawkers at end of road . Very close to hop on hop off bus kumtor and popular historic sites within walking distance. Right in heart of georgetown. Staff very friendly. Extended our stay at this hotel as location great.

Great

Excellent stay, clean, accessible and lots of facilities in the surrounding area.

Well maintained. Friendly staff. Safe. Clean bath and toilets. Getting to 2nd floor can be tricky. Look for the hidden elevator
