The COVID-19 outbreak has changed how we travel, but it hasn't put the brakes on our enthusiasm for exploring. Here are some tips on how to cope with the new challenges of travelling:

• Investigate if any travel restrictions apply to your origin and destination before committing to a flight. Also check if there are any requirements you'll need to follow on arrival, such as installing a contact tracing app.
• When you go through airport screening, keep your face mask on. You will be required to briefly lower it to verify your identity. Those who refuse to wear a face mask may be fined and denied entry.
• To reduce the likelihood of cross-contamination, place your boarding pass on the scanner yourself and then hold it up for inspection. Do not hand your boarding pass directly to a TSA officer.
• TSA now allows passengers to take one container of hand sanitizer, up to 12 oz (350 ml) in size, in carry-on bags. This will need to be removed from your bag at the X-ray machine for screening.
• To reduce handling during screening, place items such as your wallet, phone and belt into your carry-on instead of the bins.
• Transport your food items in a clear plastic bag and also place them in a screening bin. Keeping food separate from your carry-on means it's less likely a TSA officer will need to touch and open your bag for inspection.
