"My husband had a major surgery booked early in the morning at Stanford so I chose this hotel because the atmosphere seemed calming and soothing. We arrived after dinner during a heat wave and our room (in the 600 block) was 84 degrees. The a/c clearly was not working. The maintenance man got onto the rooftop to ‘reset’ the system but the room never cooled. The front desk manager walked us personally to another room that was a grade below our original room and promised to move our belongings to the top floor the next day. The staff followed through on all the promises which was greatly appreciated as I was returning late after remaining with my husband at Stanford Hospital. The rooms are QUIET!! Another bonus of an older property."

"The room was spacious and clean. Parking was free and plentiful. The rate was affordable. Breakfast was good. The only downside was that the toilet ran, but it was not audible with the door closed."

"Adorable lobby and room. Shower was AMAZING! A corner cabinet or somewhere to store personal items would have been lovely. Upstairs rooftop was great, but the fireplace would only stay on for 5 minutes at a time, the champagne glasses were plastic, and the waiter called us Cougars. :-P"

"I really enjoyed staying here on a Saturday night. I found parking, the hotel was quiet, I got my key quickly, I loved how I didn’t need any code for Wi-Fi. The rooms have amazing blackout shades that work well and keep 100% of the light out. The two things that they could enhance is the size and quality of the bath towels. In the morning I had free coffee which tasted good. I’m a semi pro coffee bean roaster so I know my coffee. The only thing I didn’t care for was the eggs and sausage, but it’s decent enough and didn’t feel sick to my stomach afterwards. I highly recommend this spot for the quality and price on a weekend."
