We arrived to a beautiful home with an easy check-in process. Though it was a bit tough to reliably get a hold of customer service in the weeks prior, we got the info we needed and settled into the home. The artwork is beautiful and the grounds were really nice. However as soon as we arrived, my husband noticed 6-10 very large cockroaches crawling in and out of the kitchen cabinets, under the sink, and on the counter. There was no Raid for roaches (just for flying insects.) It was quite startling. We also had several encounters over multiple days with workers who showed up unannounced to mow, trim the trees, etc. Some of this was expected; some was not. They were simply doing their job, but Acme should have at least alerted us to the landscaper who would be mowing our lawn right outside the bedroom at 7am or the tree trimmers who spent 4.5 hours using buzz saws and loud leaf blowers, preventing us from using the pool or even getting rest (we would have planned our days differently, had we known.) There were also smaller issues like the broken chaise chair taped up with electrical tape that my husband almost fell through; the pool towels with red wine/rust/blood droplets on them even after washed; the lack of a ceiling or mobile floor fan for the apartment since it can get very hot and, understandably, the A/C cannot go below 74 or 72 without freezing the system. We had to go hunt for (in three different stores during a pandemic) and purchase a fan for ourselves, which was a bit inconvenient. I've written twice to customer service and not heard anything yet about these issues. Would really like to book again because I'm hopeful that the next time will be improved/even better, but the longer I don't hear from anyone, the more I am concerned...
