"This little remote, hideaway boutique style hotel is almost amazing - it already is in so many ways - views stunning, watching the sunset by the pool, on the beach! The villas could do with a little upkeep- but definitely not a negative, the doors don’t fully shut and while the outdoor shower is a nice touch it also lets the mossies into the villa (and our shower didn’t work) - mosquito nets would be a great idea as we got eaten alive even with repellent - the pool is too good to miss and the...

"The hotel is in a quiet sector so if you’re looking to dining outside, you’ll need a car or a scooter, which you can rent directly at the reception (IDR 100000/day). The room was nice even though the terrace was enjoyable after sunset due to mosquitos ! Breakfast was really nice. Lots of options and very friendly staff at the restaurant. They offer different “themes”, like BBQ night, pasta night to mention some of them. Imam was very helpful and welcomed us with a very big smile every time....

The Jayakarta Lombok Hotel & Spa

The Jayakarta Lombok Hotel & Spa

8/10 Good
"I recently had the pleasure of spending five nights at the Jayakarta Lombok Hotel & Spa Resort, and I can honestly say it was one of the most rejuvenating getaways I've ever experienced. From the moment I arrived, I knew I was somewhere special. The resort sits directly on a pristine stretch of white-sand beach, with nothing between the property and the ocean except a few palm trees swaying in the breeze. The check-in process was smooth and welcoming, complete with a refreshing welcome drink—a small touch that set the tone for the entire stay. My room wasn't quite ready, so I wandered down to the beach bar and within ten minutes was sipping a cocktail with my toes in the sand. The beach itself was immaculate. Staff raked the sand every morning, and there were plenty of loungers and umbrellas available without the dreaded early-morning towel wars I've experienced at other resorts. The water was calm, clear, and perfect for swimming. Kayaks and paddleboards were complimentary for guests, and I took full advantage. The infinity pool overlooking the ocean was another highlight—beautifully maintained and never overcrowded. The spa was small but excellent; I treated myself to a coconut oil massage that I'm still thinking about weeks later."

Frequently asked questions

What is the best area to stay in P Gili Asahan?
The best area to stay in Gili Asahan is on the eastern side of the island, where the main cluster of accommodations and activities can be found.

This part of the island is where you'll find the majority of the bungalows and small resorts, all offering direct access to the beach. The eastern coast provides calm waters, making it ideal for swimming and snorkelling right from the shore. You'll also find the island's handful of restaurants and dive shops situated along this stretch.

For couples seeking a quiet and romantic escape, this eastern area is perfect. The accommodations here are typically secluded bungalows, often with private verandas overlooking the sea. You can enjoy peaceful sunrises, dine by the beach, and simply relax without the crowds found on more developed islands.

Families will also find the eastern side of Gili Asahan suitable. The shallow, clear waters are good for children to play in, and the lack of motorised transport on the island means a very relaxed environment.
What are the most romantic hotels in P Gili Asahan for couples?
For a romantic stay in P Gili Asahan, consider the highly-rated Bleu MATHIS Gili Asahan.

This hotel, with an exceptional 10.0 rating, is an excellent choice for couples looking for a special experience. It offers couples dining options and a champagne service for those celebratory moments. Guests can also enjoy the comfort of air conditioning, the convenience of a private chef, and the luxury of bathrobes provided in their rooms. Each room also features a private plunge pool, great for intimate relaxation. While the hotel offers many amenities for couples, it also provides stunning beach views, adding to the romantic setting.
When is the best time to go to P Gili Asahan?
The best time to visit Gili Asahan is during the dry season, which runs from May to September, offering the most reliably sunny weather.

During these months, you'll experience clear skies and calm waters, which are ideal for enjoying the island's primary attractions. This period is superb for those looking to spend their days snorkelling, diving, or simply relaxing on the beach without the worry of rain.

For travellers looking for a slightly quieter experience while still enjoying excellent weather, the shoulder months of April and October are also a good choice. You might encounter an occasional shower, but these are usually brief and won't disrupt your plans significantly.
