"The staff was good, the place was good, all the other things were good, but the Thalassery restaurant had fewer people in the staff; the staff member who was taking the order was the one who was preparing it. I think he might be getting a salary for waiter and chef both! Therefore, the wait for breakfast doubled; it took an hour for the order to come to the table. Also, one thing is that the restaurant is inside the hotel, and breakfast starts at 8.30 am not sharp."

"We (2 adults and 2 kids) had a pleasant stay at Stumpfields. It is 500 meters above Ooty town and within half an hour driving distance. This picturesque place is quiet, serene and well-maintained. Plenty of small and medium sized birds can be seen in and around the property. Breakfast prepared by the staff was very good and homely and the rooms are well maintained. The access to the property is steep, narrow and the terrain is little rugged, so be prepared and experience is needed to get to the parking spot near the manor. There are parking spots available a little away as well... Aged and elderly with mobility issues might have difficulties in this place, so best to avoid. Please note that pets are not allowed here."

"Superb hotel in every way. Location is great - 1 minute from bus stop, about 3 to Charing Cross, an easy walk to the Botanical Gardens, food & shops. Attentiveness of staff & attention to detail is second to none - they even provided locally sourced cookies at the tea station in the room. Bed is possibly the most comfortable I've ever slept in. Linens, room & bathroon are all immaculately clean. Shower is hot and has excellent pressure. Breakfast is outstanding. "
