"Clean rooms in a building that was a pub. Lots of stairs to get to rooms. Welcoming staff. Building is old and a bit neglected but rooms good. Amusing signage on the ground floor with 'alternate' spelling. Loved the big historical photos evoking nostalgia.
Suited my needs."

Efficient and friendly check-in. Room was in good condition, comfortable, and pretty quiet. If you’re tempted to try the on-site restaurant get yourself a booking at check in. I arrived unannounced to the restaurant on a group booking night and I was lucky that the crew were able to squeeze me in, for what was, a tasty dinner at a reasonable price.

Big family room, comfortable beds, great kitchen. Would definitely return. We arrived late and the owner had very kindly turned the heater on and put milk in our fridge. It was much appreciated.

Good value for money for a cheaper accommodation option. Wifi was good and the room was nice. Breakfast is included, but it starts at 8.00 am, which is too late for people wanting to get going. Still good value.
