"The area leading to the property isnt great. But once you entre the resort, its a different ball game. No complaints about the beach, Staff and restaurants. These were all great. However, certain things for a 5 star resort just were not upto standard. -electrics kept going off on our side of the hotel. They kept blaming this on the electricty in zanzibar, but it seemed like a faulty electrics in the hotel. Ive asked for a partial refund for this. But not heard anything. - not enough buggies...

"I had a wonderful time at this location. The staff was amazing, very cordial and accommodating. The property was cleaned constantly, the food was delicious and the poolside bar was great. Walking distance to beaches, aquarium and Zoo. I would definitely go back. "

"Flame Tree Cottages were an amazing find! We stayed here for 3 weeks, and every day was perfect! The staff are a complete credit to the hotel. They are super helpful, always smiling and nothing is too much trouble. The cottages are super cute, and positioned as such you don’t have neighbours, just your own beautiful gardens to look over. "Well trained and friendly staff, great management, friendly atmosphere. The two pool and the garden are amazing, tasty fresh breakfast. Comfortable room, hot tube in the terrace is the best idea in the whole island. Small hotel but way better than any big resorts in the island"

"Overall the property is in a great location with very good facilities. Food was above average. New Year's eve on the other hand was amazing. Everything was brilliant. Staff were also fantastic. The only gripe with the surrounding areas were that it is very poor and a huge tourist trap. The other gripe with Zanzibar in general is that you are constantly harassed from the beach by locals dancing, selling trinkets and tours - the saving grace for Turaco is that the beach seating is elevated so it...
