For something livelier, ROARR! Dinosaur Adventure (3 miles) packs in outdoor attractions and play areas, while Gressenhall Farm and Workhouse (10 miles) offers a fascinating look into Norfolk’s rural past. Norwich (12 miles), the county’s capital, is worth a full day’s itinerary for its medieval lanes and bustling markets as well as its imposing cathedral and castle. Slow things right down on Norfolk’s famous waterways by hiring a boat in Wroxham (17 miles) or swap freshwater for seawater at Wells-next-the-Sea, Blakeney and Sheringham (all within 25 miles).

Exposed stonework and original overhead beams celebrate the building’s former glory, while the deep lounge furniture creates a cosy spot to settle in front of the TV. At the opposite end is the bespoke kitchen space, which offers all the equipment needed for a hassle-free cooking experience, alongside a farmhouse-style table and chairs. The character continues into the two sympathetically designed bedrooms. The spacious super-king-size bedroom benefits from an en-suite wet room, while the welcoming twin zip-and-link bedroom has its own en-suite shower room. Outside, the private, enclosed garden offers a relaxing spot to wind down after a day out, with bench seating for tucking into something fresh from the BBQ. You’ll also have access to the shared heated courtyard that serves all three properties on site, so you can linger over evening drinks even when the temperature drops.
