The Skipton Hotel

"We had 2 nights booked and wished we’d booked longer. This is our 3rd time at this hotel and we love it. Staff are always helpful if needed. It’s very relaxed and we were upgraded with our room, it’s like a small apartment. We had to change the arrival day, the hotel was very helpful and we even got an upgrade. The overall price was reduced."

"Great location with safe car park. Friendly staff, good beer selection with every type of Timmy Taylors available. We stayed in the annex, which is new so very well decorated, clean and spacious. Full English breakfast was delicious, would definitely recommend."

"Excellent customer service, very clean rooms, super comfy bed and pillows. My room was facing the main road and it wasn't even an issue. I'm a very light sleeper and I had two nights of 8 hours sleep. Would happily stay here again"

"We stayed in the house next door rather than the hotel itself. The room was large and had good en-suite facilities. Although a couple in a double room, we couldn't get two keys to the room and had to use the key-safe on the side of the house. So whoever arrives first has to extract the keys, open the main door to the house, open the bedroom door, return to the key-safe and re-deposit the keys, hoping that another guest hasn't closed the door to the house or gone wandering into the bedroom in the meantime. When the second guest arrives, the same procedure has to be gone through or you have to bang on the window in the hope that your wife has arrived and isn't sleeping heavily. Here's an idea - have another set of keys cut to avoid all this. Breakfast was good. What wasn't so good was the easy-listening music that was piped through to you while having breakfast. Perhaps the owners think they are running a supermarket."

"Recently stayed for a weekend in the lovely town of Skipton. Russel Retreat is an affordable, cosy, warm and comfortable apartment. Neat, clean and well maintained this cottage will serve as a fantastic location to enjoy a stay in the heart of Yorkshire. A short walk in to town allows you to enjoy a day of shopping and evening out without having to worry about parking or other travel arrangements. The Retreat’s owner is very easily accessible, prompt with responses, friendly and has plenty of recommendations for places to explore and enjoy. Would highly recommend staying here any time of the year."

"We were an extended family staying to attend a wedding in Skipton. This was ideal for us. There was everything that we needed. Very spacious, bedrooms were lovely, very comfortable, all en-suite except one. It was clean and well equipped. The location is perfect for walking into Skipton, and although it’s on quite a busy road, there is plenty of parking. The only downside is there is no garden or outside space at the back. Sophie was so very helpful with providing baby equipment and always replied to my queries and requests promptly. I would definitely recommend this lovely big house and we would stay again if visiting this area again."

"We were a party of 7. It was clean. The house was excellent for our needs. Plenty of space the grandkids loved it. Everything was provided for a comfortable stay. The location was good too. Just a short walk to skipton town centre. Good communication with the host. I could not fault it. I would definitely stay there again. Thank you so much."
