Preferred in Nice

"Beautiful historic hotel right on Promenade Anglais and beach. Exceptionally friendly and helpful staff. Wonderful bar and restaurant on site. Perfect place to stay in Nice. We had the King suite which was truly wonderful with balcony overlooking the sea. You won't regret staying here. Close to many historic sites in Nice."

"It didn't start well. We weren't given the room we paid for and a complaint to hotels.com yielded nothing. We were put in a tiny room at the front of the hotel which was very noisy all night. (We paid to be in the quieter back of the hotel in a bigger room). The immediate area is a little rough round the edges, but a short walk of 5 minutes brings you into better areas and plenty of eating choices. As I said the room was tiny. The bathroom was reasonably modern but all a bit worn out. The bed was OK. AC worked when it felt like it and it was impossible to properly close and lock the window. The TV only had French channels - none of the listed international channels were available. The staff were all pretty sullen. English was not at all well understood and only grudgingly spoken. The hotel bar had a few bottles of coke and some nameless spirits. Nobody used it! All in all, it's difficult to recommend. The location is OK, once you get away from the immediate dirty, noisy surroundings."

"We did not use the restaurant or have breakfast. Check in and out was easy and quick. Room although small was sufficient for a few nights accommodation. Easy walk to all areas of Nice."

"It is far away to walk to the airport, and taking an Uber costs significantly more than traveling from Nice city center. I do not recommend staying in this hotel."
