Very friendly comfortable place to stay in the beautiful village of Brighstone. The rooms were cosy, quiet and clean with excellent shower.Great pub and good seating inside and outside. The breakfast was amazing.Well worth staying here whether an overnight stop or for longer as a base.
I had a fantastic stay. I was given a warm and friendly welcome when I arrived. The room was clean, warm and inviting. The tea, coffee & Chocolate was top quality, The shower was perfect and just what I needed. I had a meal in their restaurant, which was great, and very tasty. Breakfast was friendly and enough to start the day. Couldn't have asked for a better lace to stay.
Our room was first-class: very clean, tastefully furnished and decorated and with an exceedingly comfortable bed. We had the best night's sleep away ever. Breakfast was less impressive except for the full English which was good. Other peoples' cooked breakfasts looked OK, too, but our bacon sandwich was unappealing. There did not seem to be any cereals or fruit on the menu. All in all - really great room but average and limited breakfast.
Firstly, the staff were lovely and very helpful, and the breakfast in the morning was excellent and cooked to order! And after a very long day, the pillows were lovely!
There was a little bit of confusion at check-in, but it was eventually resolved and worked out better as one guest is disabled and would have struggled with the “fire escape” entrance to the rooms.
The accessible room he ended with was ideal, but both rooms were a little tired in some aspects - nevertheless, they were relatively clean and suitably stocked with toiletries and tea/coffee.
The only criticisms I would have is for one of the bathrooms: blue gel toothpaste left on the tap from a previous guest, dust on the door frame of the shower (as there was no where near the shower to hang the towel, I popped it over the door to easily grab, but had to wipe it down first!), and there was a broken pedal bin in the bathroom - it may have been easier to throw the lid away until a new bin was bought, as it was just a nuisance being in the way!
There was also a bit of a design flaw as when the shower door opens out, all the water on the door drops into a laminated wooden step - so the plastic trim has started to come away and may become a hazard to another user?

Disliked: Amenities
The reception is part of the bar so I had to wait while they were serving people before I could check In.
The room was really nice but unfortunately let down by empty chocolate wrappers, an empty pork scratching packet plus a few loose pork scratchings left in the draw beside the bed. Also the heating was working so the room was very cold. They did eventually give me a small very rusty oil radiator with a wheel missing for a little bit of heat.
Also they only do a cooked breakfast, I wanted just cereal 😔
On the plus side the bed was comfy and the shower was really good and hot.
Would I stay here again, probably not.
Lovely spacious room, comfy bed, very nice host Stacey & staff, nice food/breakfast. Beautiful little village & area, very peaceful & quiet. Plenty of parking. A real community pub with live music & events.
Note: there is no housekeeping & minimal towels provided for the week so had to keep asking for items, though this wasn't a big problem.
The towel heater in our bathroom never worked so had to use bedroom radiator to dry our towel each day.
Unfortunately the toilet in our bathroom was blocked all week & sadly still hadn't been sorted by the time we left, despite numerous attempts.
No mattress protector on bed. If you need WiFi it's not very good but that didn't bother us.

Chaos
We, too, booked this hotel based on exceptional reviews. We arrived to find our room unmade from previous guest. Waited 1/2 hour for another unmade room to be prepared. Chaos is our best adjective. Altho everyone was pleasant and were trying their best, it was chaos. No mattress protector, no soap or shampoo. Breakfast was very good tho we had to wait while she ran out for eggs. Also, i always pay directly to hotels.com but i had to pay this hotel directly, which led to confusion.
Booked this hotel as it had such a good rating. Rooms are lovely. Service is poor as woefully understaffed. Waiting for ages to get a drink and having a local tell you it will be quicker to go and find the bar maid!! Food was average, steak was over good, chips were out of a bag and not very well good. I also booked as it had a free breakfast and I would have time before the ferry left to have it. Waste of time!! Breakfast served at 8.30 -9.30 on a Sunday. Some guy eventually appeared at 8.45, saying she should have been down by now!! Literally time for a coffee and a slice of toast before leaving.
The beds are super comfortable and very well equipped rooms. The pub has good food too including delicious breakfast! The owner works so so hard to make it a success and it shows. Thank you!
The rooms at the Three Bishops have had a complete overhaul and are so lovely and nicely decorated. Very comfy beds, gorgeous bathrooms. We were really impressed.
Arrived as strangers and left as friends- we have never stayed somewhere were we were hugged by the host (Stacey) and the chef (Jason ) felt like we were honoured guests although we had never stayed there before! Will definitely be back asap - will bring the dogs next time!
Thoroughly enjoyed our stay. Exceptionally friendly experience. Our room was spotless, modern and had a private patio overlooking the garden. Many thanks to Ruth and her team.
