Lovely hotel with all the amenities you could ask for. Some of the fittings in the room need a bit of a refresh (flooring peeling up, weird marks on the wall) but this was only minor. Rooms are small but perfect for what we needed for a short stay. Breakfast was ok.

We liked the fact that it was very vintage yet Morden lovely room lovely staff although we had to move rooms 3 times due to bad tv signal and a broken/loose door bracket which made us unable to close the door but staff were more than happy to sort all issues and offered us a complimentary drink for the problems with our rooms

Nice hotel, in a quiet location
Nice hotel, in a quiet location. The train station next to the hotel was very handy and helped us get to where we needed to be. A very enjoyable stay and the staff we friendly and helpful!

Other hotels could learn from The Lodge!
Easy and fast check in, friendly reception staff. Free parking. Not easy to drive in though due to barriers, a little confusing! Clean, comfortable, modern and noise levels were reasonable too. Good value and close to the town centre. Can't fault much at all. Would stay again.

Staff are amazing couldn’t do enough for you. We had problems getting there. They were amazing on the phone helping with directions. Room was lovely. Breakfast was really good I can see lady works hard. Lovely too have a proper cooked breakfast especially tomato

Ok stay, frustrating to access!!
The stay was perfectly adequate. The room was ok, could have been a little cleaner, breakfast was ok, the scrambled eggs could have been a bit better. My real frustration was access to the hotel. The Sat Nav would bring you to a barrier you couldn’t get through, any re route would use roads with gates that were locked. When investigated the map the way round to get to the other side of the barrier was a few miles and if you put in the suggested post code it would try and take you on roads that were locked and not accessible. It was very frustrating when trying to enter and leave the hotel. This was not made clear on bookings or reminders. I sent back some feedback but am yet to receive a response 5 days later.

Staff fantastic! Room cleanliness - mainly dust could do with some attention. Had a look in the basket above the clothes hanging rail and never seen so much dust on the spare towels / hairdryer. The wires hanging down from the TV covered in dust too. Rest of the room spotless!

Stayed for the racing on Thursday evening. Fab location on the racecourse. No biscuits with the tea/coffee tray - had to buy some from the restaurant at £1 for a pack of 2. Bed was super comfy and would stay again if going racing.

We enjoyed our brief stay at The Lodge. Check-in was quick and friendly. The room was clean and the K bed was very comfortable. The room is small but adequate for one night. The carpet in the common areas needs to be cleaned or replaced, but for the price, we'd stay again if needed.

Great hotel a real find.
I was staying there for work and the hotel was ideally situated and at a cost effective rate. The hotel was quite new si was in good order and the setting over the racecourse was lovely. The staff were excellent and helpfull. The only negative was getting to it as tbe postcode takes you there but you cannot get in past tbe barrier and you then have to go back all the way around to get in. It needs a sign on the roundabout by tbe stryker building.

A Disaster of a Hotel
One of the most disastrous hotel stays I’ve ever had, The Lodge is a modern hotel that lacks good design or sensible management. We booked here so that my family could have an accessible room. Check-in was quick and easy, and the staff was friendly. Rooms are small, especially for a modern hotel, and are a quite worn, probably by raucous race-goers. The fixtures are wobbly on the walls, and the toilets barely flush. Breakfast is hearty if you want a Full English, and otherwise filling if you opt for Continental. The dining area has music playing, along with the blare of multiple televisions, so meals aren’t a relaxing experience. Parking is plentiful, but the hotel is a bit far from anything. You’ll need to drive 10 mins to get to a grocery store or the restaurants in town. Finally, our final night at the hotel there was only one person on shift. She was responsible for managing the front desk, tending bar, and cooking food, serving it, and bussing. She was understandably overwhelmed. It doesn’t make sense that any manager would leave a young woman to do all that alone. I and other guests jumped in to pour drinks and clean dishes. What a mess! When another staff member arrived to help out, there weren’t any “thank yous” handed out, and I was made to feel that my presence washing dishes was unwanted. It’s a shame that such a new hotel has been run so poorly. Don’t stay here if you have other options.

Thank you for taking the time to leave your review and us hear at the Lodge are very sorry for the situation you had encountered whilst you stayed with us. Unfortunately, due very late staff absences, and this causing cover to be hard to come by and on this one evening the hotel was left understaffed. Having spoken to the assistant manager and duty manager, they really wanted to keep the same level of services available for guests. The decision not to close certain hotel services was jointly made by the assistant and the duty manager together as they felt they could work together to avoid this, as at the time the hotel was quiet at the start of shift, they decided that the duty manager would call if the hotel picked up and the assistant would return as they had already been on shift in the morning. Although perhaps a little naïve of both members of staff to think they would be able to keep all services running whilst being understaffed, they both really had the best intentions. I can only apologies and I hope you can appreciate that during your stay the situation was very unprecedented at that is not the usual. I would also like to say a big thank you for your understanding and help you had given are duty manager at the time.

Arrived, dropped off luggage and went out On returning to room terrible sewage smell in room No problem to be moved and was given an upgraded room What did disappoint us was we were wakened by noisy people chatting/shouting in the corridor and was very loud This was at 6AM
