Not worth the “cheap” rate — towels were old and scratchy, food was left in the refrigerator, the room was dark and the elevator smelled rank. When I told the front desk attendant at check in, he just shrugged. The best part was the shower, small but a great shower head. Gun-ho (spelling is off) who was at the front desk when I left was the absolute best part of the whole stay. Gun-ho gave 5 star service and was friendly, helpful and knowledgeable about the area.

Arrived before check in and left my bags with desk. Received a text when my room was ready and they had my bags in my room when I got there. Very small room. Fine for a place to stay. Nice that there is water and coffee in lobby.

The mean heating unit wasn't working. They gave a portable heater which makes a lot of noise. The staff was mean and not helpful at all because they try to minimize the interaction with the guests

The Sohotel had some nice features. They had a room with two beds which is hard to find in NYC. It was clean and the beds were comfy. The room was small. The bathroom was renovated and nicely done. No heater in the bathroom. The neighborhood is moist at night with traffic. Staff was helpful and friendly. For the price it was good. The lobby was decorated really strangely. Multi colored primary colored panels. Good restaurants nearby including The Butler and Eataly.

Good location near Chinatown, little Italy and SoHo. This is a no frills hotel. Safe, inexpensive and comfortable enough for a very tiny room. Overall just fine. Earplugs were appreciated!

Great basic room. Reasonable price. No frills. Room very small but clean. Helpful if you are able to shower, toilet, and shave in a phone booth. Front desk staff were awesome and very helpful. Great location at junction of China Town, Soho, Tribeca, and Chelsea.

This is a glorified dorm room, complete with mini-fridge, insufficient towels, and plywood furniture. They have "quiet hours." If you need to do it for the price, okay, but know it's more basic then basic.

Overall, the property was clean and updated, however, the rooms were very tight and challenging to get comfortable in. The noise from the street was also an issue. Pretty close to subway and Chinatown.
