The unit was nice and had a good ocean view from the balcony. The unit had everything we needed. The complex seems to be falling apart a bit. Lots of rotted wood and unfinished areas. Looks like they are working to recover from the hurricanes or just wear and tear.

Good Location

Not bad for the price! We liked the 2nd floor because it was quiet. The stairs were ok. We could see the ocean but there is a condo building right next door so the balcony is not at all private and we didn't spend time out there. The heated pool was great! A nice amenity in early Feb! We never had an issue with finding parking. We found the door code system to be easy. There were absolutely no toiletries in this condo other than half empty liquid hand soaps and dish soap and 1/2 a roll of toilet paper, so that was a little annoying. There is a 7/11 across the street and an awesome taco/ice cream stand! The condo itself is a bit shabby. The shower curtain had mildew. It was ok for 3 nights at the price. Great location on a great beach!

Mini beach trip

The condo itself for what we needed for a weekend getaway was good, and clean. The location is great, surrounding area super, beach access amazing, working pool, good wash off station, grills are a great accommodation. The building infrastructure could have some TLC but overall we are happy with the stay and cost, and as mentioned the apartment is fine. We will be returning 2 more times this summer for a weekend mini vacay.

Unit was nice, property needs work

Nice unit, right on the beach, clean and quiet. Keypad didn’t work, had to get key from lockbox. Only sleeps 3 if someone sleeps on the couch (not a pull-out). Beach chairs provided but so rusty we didn’t touch them. Property in poor repair, lots of rust and holes in stair landings. Pool looked nice and clean.

Abbreviated visit

We had planned for a three night stay for some family members. We only used one night. This was simply due to some family returning home , so we didn’t need the space. The group that stayed there the one night told me to remember this place because they would recommend it or stay there again. The price was unbeatable.

This was by far the biggest disappointment I have had since booking through VRBO. The pictures of the apartment were nice. The whole building itself was a dump. I was afraid to go out on the balcony as the wood looked so rotted I was afraid of falling through it. The whole building was in need of a desperate face lift. We stayed the first night but went to a hotel down the street and got a room for the 2nd night. This was nothing like what they advertised. Very disappointed.

First and foremost when you stay at any motel you always have toilet paper and hand soap to wash your hands and body. Not at this condo! None available here. Had to run right to the store to get some. The coffee pot was crusted over with dried coffee coffee pot dirty.. for the money charged I thought it would of been cleaner.

This place is falling down around the guests. Floors are spongy it just feels like you are staying in the house not taken care of. We sat on the patio and saw an air conditioner eaten up falling apart but still running. This place will not past the upcoming inspections so probably won't be there much longer

Nice for the price

We’ve stayed at Coastal Waters before. This unit was older, and clean where it counts. Short walk to the no-drive beach, and a good value for the price. Unit could use some maintenance and attention to detail. Windows to look out at beach were so salt sprayed as to be frosted. Stove is missing a burner, and some light bulbs were missing. But overall fairly nice. Would return.

Very run down unit. No smoke detector in bedroom. Shower curtain was full of mildew. Was unable to use bedroom AC unit when sleeping due to loud vibration. No extra towels, ones there were old and stained. Wasn’t properly cleaned. No extra sheets, have no idea if they even changed them before we checked in. Rental company should be embarrassed to rent this unit. Curtains didn’t even cover windows correctly. Never again.

Pros: great location on the beach. Pool is heated and clean. This unit has so much POTENTIAL. There is a vintage charm that I fell in love with. Con’s: The building needs a significant amount of maintenance. At arrival, the lobby code to get into the building would not work. After calling the booking agent I was informed that the code had been changed. After finding the until, my door code wouldn’t work either so once again I contacted the agent who suggested I use the key in the lock box. She provided the code and the lock box fell apart in my hand but at least I had the key and was inside the unit. The damp smell inside the unit is very intense and allergy inducing. The space could use a DEEP clean.The photos posted on VRBO makes it look much nicer than it actually is. Lack of communication by the host. The only basic necessities provided were a half roll of paper towels and minimal amount of toilet paper.

Overall good, however not stocked for a long stay

A few things bothered us about this property. Overall it was a good experience, however there are some slight details that could’ve made it much better. 1. The bathroom only had 2 rolls of toilet paper and we were staying for a week, so we had to buy our own. 2. They say towels are provided, however you get two beach towels and 4 regular towels, great if you’re staying a few days not a week. 3. There was only one trash bag for the main kitchen trash can, no extras, so once it filled up we had to find another place to put our trash. 4. The bathroom door is slightly bent upwards at the hinges, causing it to get stuck on the door frame. 5. The faucet in the bathroom has a constant stream of water unless you turn the faucet handle a specific way 6. The balcony has standing water (the owner was actively getting this looked at while we were there so I’m sure this won’t be a future problem) 7. There was only one set of sheets, so if you accidentally get them dirty somehow, you have to wash them and hope they dry before bedtime 8. The main lock on the front door also had a problem with sticking a little, but this was more due to the door position, and could easily be remedied by pulling the door a little more in once it was shut to fully lock it These things overall didn’t hinder the positive experience that much. There was a beautiful view, the ac worked great, pool was always warm (even though I’m pretty sure it wasn't heated), there is free wifi with a Roku tv so you can stay caught up on your favorite Netflix or Hulu shows, the spot on the beach was good, there is a good selection of food close by (we suggest Norwood’s), and it was relatively quiet - you can’t hear anyone through the walls other than the occasional walking upstairs but we didn’t notice it that much. Overall a positive experience and my wife and I would go back again

Good Time

Little off the beaten path, but worth it. Beach was quite and stores and restaurants were only a short walk or Uber ride away. Grill was a bit of a pain, but we made it work.

Just right for our needs

The room was comfortable and the location super convenient. A few steps from the beach and a view of the ocean from the balcony made for a nice stay. Needs a bit of maintenance but no real complaints here. We will be back.

Great location but parking sucked

The condo sits in a great location with ocean views, if you could get out to the flooded patio which is assembled by what appeared to be plywood. The parking was not assigned or controlled, so anyone was allowed to park in the sandy parking area. Which made it impossible to find a parking spot in the complex. The unit needs updating, especially the bathroom and kitchen. I have been to New Smyrna beach several times during Spring break, but I have NEVER seen so many unruly teenagers!! I’ll spend my next St. Patrick days here in Sarasota.

Halloween Get away

The unit was better than the pictures. It was spacious , clean, and had everything we needed. The view from the balcony was exceptional. We could hear the ocean in the bedroom. Steps away from the beach, and conveniently located near great restaurants, Publix, and a cute ice cream/taco joint across the street. A definite must stay again.
