High Country Lodge is the newest and largest edition to the Wintergreen Retreat portfolio of fine mountain homes. You will be impressed with the large open floor plan and thoughtfully curated décor throughout the home. The new owners have meticulously remodeled this house with attention to details, so you can be assured of a comfortable stay with quality furnishings and accessories.
    The main level includes the soaring, light filled Great Room with cathedral ceiling & stone fireplace, multiple sitting areas and a impressive game room complete with a pool table and bar.
    The upper level has the master suite with a King bed and sitting area, and a second bedroom with Queen bed.
    The lower level has 4 bedrooms, including a large kid’s room complete with Video arcade and large screen TV for gaming/streaming.
    The High Country Lodge @Wintergreen Retreat is a vacation rental home within the Wintergreen Resort in Virginia in the prestigious Devil's Knob Loop area. It is a modern meets rustic elegant mountain lodge that comfortably sleeps up to 23 in 6 bedrooms and 4.5 baths.

Family Celebration

Family gathered together to celebrate a college graduation. It was the perfect place to accommodate such a large group of people. The owner was great and very hospitable. I highly recommend this property for large groups, it has plenty of space and all the necessities.

Me and my family of 23 always go out of town for Thanksgivings holidays. This home was exceptional!! Beautiful, clean, cozy and amazing mountains views. Lots of space and excellent location

We had 10 adults and 11 kids gather for a week of family fun. This home has plenty of common space to spread out. The deck is great for relaxing. Wintergreen Resort and the surrounding areas have plenty of options available for things to do. Good food, good music, hiking, etc.

A birthday weekend full of wonderful memories

The house is filled with natural light and beautiful views from numerous decks! The pool table room was a perfect gaming area for our Derby Race Game. Being on the same floor as the living area left lots of different conversational areas for fun smaller groups. Just needed more dining space.

Awesome weekend.

It was a wonderful weekend with our family. The house is perfectly sized for large family with children. Modern clean all utensils cooking supplies dishes. The views through the glass big glass windows were amazing. Rooms were comfortable separated for privacy. The bar room was excellent for entertainment. Record player was awesome to bring back memories for our younger generation. Lots of fun lots of supply of wood house was clean and easy access for skiing and or tubing and thank you so much for the bottle of wine.

Christmas Weekend

Wonderful stay for our Christmas trip! Great location & easy communication with the host. The space was just what we needed for adults and children. The only downside was that several of our guests experienced allergies on the 1st floor to where some slept on the couch on the 2nd floor the rest of the stay. Unsure if the air filters have been changed or if it needs some vacuuming. Couple of the beds on the first floor are also tilted. Nonetheless, we still had a great time!

This property has it all!

17 family members stayed for a long holiday weekend and this house was absolutely perfect! The open floor plan on the main floor offered something for everyone! The kitchen is spacious, has every amenity imaginable including two refrigerators. We used the two sided fireplace which kept us toasty and added to the ambiance. The guys loved having the pool table, and the comfy chairs by the window became the perfect spot to sip some wine and watch the snow fall. We loved the rustic mountain vibe throughout the house! The kids had their own space on the first floor and really enjoyed the arcade. In addition to skiing every day, they were able to enjoy sledding down the hill behind the house in the mornings and late afternoons! The house is conveniently located just minutes from the slopes and it is easy to drop off/ pick up to avoid parking challenges at the slopes! Fortunately there is plenty of parking available at the house. We had 5 vehicles! All in all, it was a great weekend! My only suggestion is to bring your own lighter and starter log if you plan to use the fireplace. Fortunately one of our late arrivals was able to take care of this for us!
