Blue's Barn: Central to Wineries & Breweries

Blue's Barn is a one-of-a-kind spot located at Stoney Creek in Wintergreen at the base of the Blue Ridge Mountains. Just minutes from Nelson 151, we are located near many award winning wineries, breweries, cideries and distilleries. The recently renovated barn is located on a residential lot a features an open concept living and dining space with an upstairs lofted king bedroom and private ensuite.


DOWNSTAIRS:

Dining Room: counter height dining table with 4 stools

Living Room: queen sleeper sofa, two side chairs, smart TV, chess table

Kitchen: kitchenette-style with fridge, electric cooktop, sink, microwave, toaster and coffee pot. Please note that there is not an oven or dishwasher and supplies are limited.

Powder Room: single vanity with toilet


UPSTAIRS:

Bedroom: king bed, nightstands, couch, desk, smart TV, full-length mirror

Bathroom: walk-in shower, single vanity, toilet, toiletries (shampoo, conditioner, body wash, hand soap and lotion provided)

Note: we do provide an additional mattress under the king bed that can be pulled out to accommodate an additional guest

BACKYARD: woodburning fire pit (firewood provided!) with Adirondack chairs; patio with lounge chairs and table; gas heaters


Note: The property owners live up the driveway and their home is visible from Blue's Barn. Guests will likely be greeted by their friendly dog, Blue.

- The property owners live up the driveway and they have a friendly outdoor cat who may occasionally pay a visit. Also, guests will often be greeted by their friendly dog, Blue.
- The barn is located on a steep driveway and may require 4 wheel drive during winter months.
- Guests also have access to the Wintergreen pool and tennis/pickleball courts

Cabin stay

The overall cabin was super cute and very clean. We did have a problem with bees in the house. My husband was assuming they were probably coming in through the barn door. The only thing I was just a little disappointed about was that we were actually in a neighborhood. I thought it was going to be a little bit more secluded. Overall, we had a wonderful time and I would recommend this VRBO to someone.

Lovely little cabin

My daughters and I stayed two nights here and it was just lovely. It was quaint but had all the modern creature comforts to make our brief visit just wonderful. I was with my two teenage daughters, and they couldn't have been happier. We watched movies at night on the easy to navigate smart TV and there are tons of local breweries for easy dinner access. Less than a half hour to Wintergreen. My only "warning" is it is in a neighborhood at that base of the owner's property, so it's not a "secluded" mountain cabin, but we didn't expect it to be. It was exactly what we thought it would be.

Weekend getaway

My boyfriend and I stayed at Blues Barn for a little weekend trip to visit the town and enjoy the vinyards and breweries. What a great place and such awesome people! Blues Barn was in a great location for our trip. Also, it was adorable! It actually was better in person than we expected based on the pictures, which never happens. What a cool place! We loved everthing about it. Great communication with the host as well. The trip had another surprise in store for me too... a proposal :) A truly awesome place to begin the rest of our lives❤

AWESOME COUPLES GETAWAY!

We stayed for the weekend and had the best time. We loved that the barn was so close to everything along Rt. 151. We ate all our meals out so we didnt really use the kitchen, but it seemed to have most things that you'd need, minus an oven. The bed was very comfortable. We loved the firepit area, and we were thrilled to get visits both nights from Mack Daddy while we were out there. The area was quiet and peaceful, great for time away.

So peaceful!

This spot is a gem. Just a few miles off of 151 in Nellysford, it is absolutely adorable. Super clean and cozy. Had everything we needed including firewood for the pit. Saw deer and woodpeckers while sitting on the porch with my morning coffee. Bed was very comfortable. Very close to wineries and breweries. Had breakfast at Belties both mornings! We will definitely be back.
