"We are so impressed with our stay at Mansion Papilio! We arrived about an hour before check in and weren’t able to check in right away, however, we were immediately greeted by the most courteous staff and had assistance with our bags. Additionally, while we waited for our room we were brought glasses of complimentary wine and offered to order an amazing meal while we waited. The garden just outside the front of the mansion is where we were able to eat and it was such a pleasant experience. The staff was so attentive the whole way through making sure to check on us, bring us more wine or whatever we needed until our check in at 3PM! When we arrived in the Mansion to Check In, the appearance and aroma inside was spectacular. It was finely decorated for the holidays on top of having beautiful decor already! It was surprisingly very clean (sometimes hard to find with older style buildings). The room was spotless, everything was neat, clean, and felt fresh! In our bathroom, there was a massive shower and Jacuzzi tub and we had no issues with hot water at all, which I was a little skeptical at first because it is also hard to find scorching hot water in older style homes like this. During our stay we also were able to do the S’Mores and Fireplace experience in our room which was very easy to request at night time with the overnight staff! The staff was very courteous, helpful, and pleasant; not overbearing which I really enjoyed. It is a perfect 5 min walking distance from city! "
"These people run a scam, they let you reserve a room with a king size bed, what you get is a smaller bed, of course the moment you come into the room you have to go back to say there is a mistake, and the answer you get back is: there are no rooms with king size beds in the whole building. So it’s a scam.
Second, they give you a “suite”, which is build in a terrace, so the elevators don’t go there. You must walk the safety stairs to get there, just to find there are 2 suites in the middle of a gym and a “co-working area” (4 desks), with just glass doors between you and strangers and they tell, you can lower the curtains for privacy, it’s the most unprivate & unsafe room in a “hotel” we’ve ever been.
At least we got a “proper” room, but never the king size bed we had reserved.
You can hear everything, the walls are paper thin.
It’s a multipurpose building, not a hotel.
The hot water will be enough for 1 person, not for 2.
The lightning inside the room is bad, very dark at nights.
And pity for hotels.com that they cannot do anything to cancel and get your money back, once we found out they give out king size bed reservations not having one king size bed at all.
Read the small letters. There is a 35-40 dollar extra fee for cleaning, Which irritates you more as all the towels and bed sheets have yellow stains, the furniture is dusty, and you cannot tell straight away, but I cleaned the floor with a napkin to pick up something I dropped and it’s black full in dust."
"The place was beautiful and comfortable. The location was quiet and in a place very walkable to the center of Coyoacán. Staff was friendly and had great recommendations."
"This hotel is a true gem in Coyoacan, Mexico. We had an exceptional experience with their service and comfort. It is situated on one of the most beautiful streets in Coyoacan, Francisco Sosa. The 18-minute walk to “la plaza de Coyoacan” didn't bother us at all. We really loved it because it was surrounded by charming little shops and restaurants. Ms. Ana and her staff went above and beyond to ensure we had a wonderful stay. We felt safe all the time. I highly recommend this place, and we will definitely stay here again. "
