"Really friendly and helpful host. Accommodated our late arrival and made the house welcome for us. Really lovely space, good sized rooms and gorgeous living room and kitchen areas. The pool and view was amazing. Having the use of a sauna and a hot tub were great for the rainy days! Really well stocked kitchen with ample selection of knives, crockery and cooking gadgets. "

"We had the most incredible stay with Franck at La Sicardie. 7 nights, it is deep in the Dordogne countryside but also within a couple of hours drive to Bordeaux, Bergerac, Perigeaux and all the incredible cave systems that litter the area.Our accommodation was perfect, exactly as described, lots of space for the kids to run around, meet the donkeys and generally have a wonderful summer. Franck and his family are delightful hosts, warm, kind and most generous! We had everything we could possibly want, and more . The pool is a stunning and most welcome feature as well.Thank you Franck, Merci a vous Franck, hope you enjoy as much as we did! I hope we will be back!"

"The gite was beautiful, very clean and well equipped. Jacques SORBIER and his wife, the hosts, were very hospitable and greeted us on our arrival. We managed to communicate via email, despite our basic level of French. The gite is in a lovely rural location with far reaching views of the countryside, but is well located to explore the surrounding villages of the Dordogne. The picturesque village of Saint Alvere is only 5 mins drive and the larger town of Bugue, with a supermarket, is only 15 mins drive. Highly recommend a stay at this gite."

"We had a really lovely family holiday week here. The house is very comfortable and spacious, and stayed pretty cool in very hot weather. It’s a good combination of beautiful old Stone farmhouse but with modern beds, bathrooms, kitchen equipment, etcetera. The swimming pool is great, really clean and big! In fact everything is better than it looked in the photo, with the extra bonus of being a few minutes walk into the village with a bakery, restaurants and little supermarket plus boules and mini golf!. Brendan was welcoming and flexible around dates which was helpful for us. There are masses of things to do nearby for families and grown ups. Finally I have to mention the amazing bird and other wildlife in the big garden and fields, made it rather magical!"

"We were a party of nine (three generations), celebrating our golden wedding anniversary. We had a fabulous two weeks at Quintefeuille.The owners, Diana and Philippe, gave us a very friendly welcome, and during the fortnight were attentive, helpful but discrete.Six of us stayed in the main house with the other three in the annexe with its own kitchen. The manoir was magnificent with large bedrooms, a very spacious lounge/dining area and a very well equipped kitchen which allowed us to indulge our passion for French cuisine. In the courtyard there was a very large table for outside dining-breakfast every morning and only once did we have to eat dinner inside.We enjoyed the excellent tennis court and swimming pool every day-the kids were in second heaven.The manoir is very secluded sitting in 47 acres of grounds which we enjoyed exploring. The peace and quiet was one of the main attractions-waking up in the morning with the sun streaming in and hearing the bird song was great.We will have very fond memories of the manoir for many years"

"Ground floor apartment with its own courtyard, and seating area. Cool when outside was 35 degrees! Beautiful swimming pool and sitting area to yourself. Restful and comfortable. Lovely views over the centre of St Alvere from your courtyard with all ameneties only 200 metres maximum away... Boulangerie, Patisserie, Cafe and Tabac, 3 Restuarants, great little supermarket with everything you need and a local market once a week. Max and Helene were perfect hosts, there if needed and handy tips for local events, but discreet otherwise. Great place to stay! "
