This hotel has four stars, but it felt more like a three star hotel. We travel a lot, and compared to other places, the service was just not "there".
My husband participated in the Ironman competition that took place in Muscat for the for the fist time. There were several other athletes in the hotel. The management didn't want guests to transport their bicycles through the lobby. Really? We were under the impression that the hotel was not prepared to host athletes. That's usually different in other places where hotels make special accommodations when it comes to food and other services. As an example, we had to ask several times for an early breakfast before the race, which the hotel ultimately made possible. But the impression stayed with us that they need to change their attitude and become more customer friendly and less snobby. After all, this is not the Ritz-Carlton! Other things that we didn't like was the somewhat outdated decor and a constant noise that came out of the vents, which made falling asleep difficult. They have some maintenance issues as well, such as stained upholstery and a lack of cleanness in some areas. The breakfast buffet was nice, but the other food that we ordered was not very good, so that we preferred to eat somewhere else.
