"Everyone in our party thought this was the best place we had stayed at in the Burnsville area. We had 3 families staying and each had their own level in the house with each family having their own bathroom. Also being able to have all 10 of us sitting around the same table at dinner was a real plus. We will definitely put this place on our future vacation itineraries."

"When we got up to the property, we didn't really know what to expect. It was more spectacular than we could have imagined. The drive up the steep driveway was a little intimidating, but with high risk comes high reward. The view was breathtaking. I would have liked to seen a clear night on our stay to see the stars, but mother nature had other ideas. My advice to future travelers is to plan your outings accordingly. If you want solitude, this is the place for it. It takes a while to reach any stores in town (Burnsville, Spruce Pine) for anything. Luckily there are a couple of convenience stores up Hwy 80 to get any necessities, but plan to stay in and get the most from the experience when you can.The owners were very accessible and answered any questions via text within several minutes. Any discrepancies between the listing and the property were not a big deal. Anything you can think of not having when arriving, chances are they have it (such as kitchen tools).5/5 Excellent stay and worth revisiting!"

"Enjoyed our stay by the river. This is an older home with some modern updates. The fence in the front yard was much appreciated but the property is still rather close to a very busy highway. The backyard is very nice by the river with access."

"We have stayed in several cabins before. Some we would like to return to, others not so much. This is one we will return to. The location was great. Easy access to the river. Hot tub worked great. If you are wanting to visit Mt Mitchell, don’t go purely on the fact that technically you are 8 miles away. As that might be true if you were to walk straight there, but if you are driving, it takes about 1.5 hours. Beautiful drive. Just not as close as we had thought we would be. We came on what was probably the hottest weekend of the year and it was quite comfy the whole time. The cabin doesn’t have central A/C but the window unit and mini split did the job just fine. The cool mountain air was refreshing the entire time! Highly recommend this rental. Honestly, wish it was for sale!"

"We had a wonderful stay and would highly recommend this property! The home was exactly as described—extremely clean, cozy, and beautifully maintained. It was so warm and inviting-we felt like we were staying at a family member’s house! The kitchen was well stocked and there was plenty of extra linens making our stay so comfortable.We traveled with three children and they had a ball exploring the backyard, front and side yards. Perfect for families and there was plenty to do while enjoying the peaceful surroundings.Cynthia was so friendly, responsive, and provided excellent communication before and throughout our stay. Our family thoroughly enjoyed our time here, and we wouldn’t hesitate to stay again. Thank you for a fantastic experience!!"

"Pristine cabin in a gorgeous location on a creek at the Mt Mitchell trailhead. Well stocked with everything you need to make meals and morning coffee. Would stay here over and over. Very comfortable for 2 couples."
